2 WHO Indonesia Emergency and Humanitarian Action (EHA) Section Emergency Situation Report Mount Talang Reporting date Monday, 18 April 2005 Type of Emergency Increased volcano activity, potential eruption Date of emergency incidence Tuesday, 12 April 2005 at 3:42 am local time (20:42 GMT Monday) Place Mt. Talang is Located around 40 km East of Padang City, Capital of West Sumatera Province Location is 1.0S, 100.7E, Elevation 2,896 meter Background information on the incidence As of this morning, BAKORNAS and local officials report a general decrease in activity although volcano few sporadic bursts, has lowered alert level to level III. The Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics board has warn people to avoid the ash fall-out zone around the peak and initialing the evacuation process of the mountain s slope

Yudoyono has visited area of IDPs; along with provincial government officials have made to carry out assessments. Provincial Government Provincial Government deem that health care problems manageable by local health authorities. Coordination with the Satlak PBP, Solok District. There are 7 emergency shelter areas with the Main Posko at the Bupatis Government Office, in the Solok District. Health Posko has been established in each emergency shelter area. Health staff at local Health centers, satellite Health centers and hospital have been alerted and ready.
4 Health care is administrated and implemented in emergency shelter areas, with each visit averaging in assessing 205 people. Filter masks are in being stocked and distributed free of charge at all times. 6 WHO Indonesia Emergency and Humanitarian Action (EHA) Section Emergency Situation Report Mount Tangkuban Perahu Reporting date Monday, 18 April 2005 Type of Emergency Increased volcanic activities, level III alert Date of emergency incidence Wednesday, 13 April 2005 at 15:02:00 local time Place Mt. Tangkuban Perahu is located in the vicinity of Bandung, Capital of West Java Mt. Tangkuban Perahu (Location is 30 km north of Bandung, 2076m above sea level) Background information on the incidence BAKORNAS and BMG report that volcanic activity have decreased, but is still carefully monitoring the volcano. Poisonous gas emitting and smoke rising up from volcano crater, although decreasing is still being reported reported. The Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics Board still bans the crater area offlimits to all people. Alert level is still at level III (prepare), and is being monitored. Population at risk 1 Casualties or deaths - None reported 2 Injured - None reported 3 IDPs - None reported People residing in the area have been alerted and are to be ready for evacuations to anticipate any emergency incidents.
7 Damages 1 Public infrastructures - No reports of damage 2 Private property - No reports of damage Government Support The Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics board and BAKORNAS have banned crater area off-limits. Provincial official warn people to avoid the crater area and socialized to the surrounding people in the area to be calm and on alert. Krakatoa is Located in the Sunda Straits, West Java Province Mt. Krakatoa (Location is 16.7 S Lat and E Lon) Background information on the incidence BAKORNAS and BMG report that volcanic activity have decreased, but is still carefully monitoring the volcano. Black smoke still erupting out of Mount Krakatau, although decreasing is still being reported. Alert level is still at level II (alert), and is being monitored. The Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics Board still bans the crater area offlimits to all people. Population at risk 1 Casualties or deaths - None reported 2 Injured - None reported 3 IDPs - None reported There are no people residing in the area or vicinity but mount Krakatau is tourist attraction site. Damages 1 Public infrastructures - No reports of damage 2 Private property - No reports of damage
