5 Karnataka GIS (K-GIS) A flagship Project of GoK, to Institutionalize the use of Geospatial in the Governance Objectives To establish the state needs for robust information and GIS based decision support systems and also focus to ensure continued availability of GIS ready data assets and applications. To bring all the GIS data available in various departments under one single seamless spatial framework. To help the departmental users with GIS data and advanced tools for GIS analysis through simpler web and mobile interfaces system with an executive dashboard and other business workflows KSRSAC KGIS Mission GWF-2018

50 Geospatial Policy Under finalisation Mandatory use of GIS for governance and Planning Use of KGIS as common Platform for GIS based DSS Free availability of data generated though public money Interoperable standardised GIS data to be available for all High resolution satellite - base data for the complete state, periodically KGIS shall continously update the base data and thematic data All departments have to own the data and continously update the data* Integrate all workflows into GIS based systems GoK s commitment for Continous updation and maintenace of KGIS data / application and necessary infrastructure for KGIS Platform for developing GIS based app / DSS by dept / citizens 2 GO s are released by Government of Karnataka in the last one year on mandatory use and updation of data in K-GIS Platform KSRSAC KGIS Mission GWF-2018
