All living organisms have seven things in common. We call these things life processes. Activity 1: Look at the picture. Then write three things that are the same between the girl and the dog. Humans move from one place to another using their legs. Animals move using different parts of their bodies (legs and wings) or all their body ( like the snake). Plants move toward the sunlight and their roots move deeper in the soil. 49

All living organisms need to get rid of waste from their bodies. We get CO2 out, when we breathe Out; and we sweat when we exercise. Animals have many types of adaptations. The animal is said to be adapted to his environment. One of the requirements of adaptation is the presence of special organs that relate the animal to its environment. - The frog has a long sticky tongue to catch flying insects. - The hawk has sharp claws that help it catch and hold the prey. - It has a sharp beak which helps in cutting the meat. 55
