3 Functions of the plant parts Each part of the plant has its own function just like our bodies. Flower -Produces seeds. Leaves -Make the food for the plant Roots -Grow under the surface of the soil. -Hold the plant in the ground. -Absorb water and nutrients from the soil. Stem -It holds the plant up. -It carries water and nutrients from the roots to the leaves. - It carries the leaves, flowers and fruits 3
