4 L/L/L Introdution L/L/L Temperature/urrent Rating The ambient temperature urves shown represent the rated urrent arrying apaity of the annon L1/2/3/4, L1/2/3 and L1/2 eletrial onnetors, derated to 80% of the values reorded using the methods speified by International letro-tehnial ommission oument 48 (1975). urrent was applied to the total onnetor (all ontats) in one-half ampere inrements and maintained at eah urrent level until thermal stability was ahieved. thermoouple inserted into the hottest area of eah onnetor then measured the onnetor temperature at the same time that an ambient temperature reading was taken. The differene between the two measured values is the heat rise or self-heating reated solely by the urrent flow, and this temperature rise for the urrent level was deduted from the insulator material rated temperature. These values were then derated to 80% to obtain the urves shown.
