The Tigers welcome North Dakota, UMass-Lowell, Yale and James Madison to Jane B. Moore Field for a weekend full of softball.» Auburn will host its annual Pink Game in the finale of the Tiger Invitational against James Madison. All proceeds will go to the Cancer Center of East Alabama. Pink ribbons will be available as well as pink t-shirts. There will also be a silent auction for the game-worn jerseys.» The Tigers hit.290 and raced across 44 runs in their six wins. Victoria Draper (.750), Carlee Wallace (.429) and Haley Fagan (.400) produced six-plus hits and pace Auburn offensively.» Kaylee Carlson and Makayla Martin continued their hot start in the circle after posting 0.44 and 0.49 ERA, respectively. Carlson went 4-0 with 11 strikeouts, while Martin boasted a 2-0 record with one complete-game shutout and 20 strikeouts.» It was truly a team effort last weekend as 14 different players recorded either one hit or one run, including 11 who accomplished both. MOORE FIELD Jane B. Moore Field is in its 19th season hosting the Auburn softball program. On April, 26, 2003, the Auburn Softball Complex was renamed Jane B. Moore Field in 2002 in honor of Dr. Jane Moore who served more than 20 years as a member of Auburn s Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics. The complex holds dimensions of 201 feet at the corners and 220 feet in straight-away center field. Since head coach Clint Myers took over the program in 2014, 131,927 have seen a game at Auburn s on-campus venue. In the 16 previous seasons, the total attendance was 122,276. 4 Games Feb , 2017 CLINT MYERS» HEAD COACH With the reputation of taking a program and turning it into a perennial power, head coach Clint Myers has taken Auburn softball to unprecedented heights in just three years. Myers has guided the Tigers to back-to-back Women s College World Series appearances in the past two campaigns, when the previously best finish came with a showing at a regional final in Since his appointment following the 2013 season, Auburn has broken 21 records, including 16 on offense, and led the nation in a plethora of categories. Myers has coached nine All-Americans, with three coming in each of his seasons on The Plains. Before his arrival, the Tigers had five players who were tabbed All-Americans in the previous 17 campaigns. In comparison with rivals in the conference, Myers has coached nine All-SEC performers, even setting a program record with four in Between , Auburn had never placed multiple players on the all-conference team lists. Since then, the Tigers have had three, four and two representatives in successive years under Myers. As impressive as Myers teams have been on the field, the program has taken a giant leap forward off of it. Under Myers, Auburn has placed three on Academic All-America and Academic All-District lists, something that had never been done previously. In 2016, the Tigers had 24 honorees on the Academic All-SEC list. Kasey Cooper also became the first player in softball history to be named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and the NCAA Elite 90 winner. A 1976 graduate of Arizona State, Myers was a member of the Sun Devil baseball team from and played on the College World Series runner-up squads in 1972 and He was later selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the third round of the 1973 Major League Draft. Myers and his wife, Katie, have two sons, Casey and Corey. They also have three grandchildren; grandsons, Cole and Christian, and granddaughter, Carlee. 6 Games Feb , 2017 STREAK S ALIVE» Haley Fagan and Carlee Wallace both bring impressive streaks into the weekend tournament. Fagan has tallied a hit in seven consecutive games, while reaching base safely in eight straight tilts. Wallace, who recently moved to the leadoff spot in the lineup, is the only player to have reached base safely in all 10 games thus far for the Tigers. LEADOFF AND LOADED» As a team, Auburn has been the most dangerous when leading off an inning and when the bases are loaded. The Tigers boast a.431 batting clip when leading off an inning and a.353 average when the bases are full of Auburn players. The Tigers have racked up a leadoff hit 28 times in ON THIS DATE» On Feb. 23, 2011, Amber Harrison smacked a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth to propel Auburn to a 4-2 victory over Georgia State. COOPER PICKED PRESEASON ALL-SEC» Auburn softball s Kasey Cooper was picked to the Preseason All-SEC Team, the league office announced Wednesday with the unveiling of its 10th annual list for the upcoming 2017 season.» Cooper, the lone representative from the reigning conference tournament champions, earned the nod as a preseason all-conference choice for the third consecutive time in her career.» The 2016 SEC Player of the Year was one of six seniors to be selected to the team that also included six juniors and three sophomores.
