Based on the NFCA ranking this season was the Lady Vols first time since 2014 ranked in the top 5 in the NFCA Coaches Poll. The Vols have been ranked for 949 straight games, a streak that started back on Feb. 17, UT has a record during that span. K-So Awesome Pitcher Caylan Arnold has thrown over 200 strikeouts this season and has over 300 career strikeouts. She is currently ranked third in the SEC with 200 strikeouts and 24th in the nation. Not only does she strike them out, but she catches them while they are looking. She is fourth in the SEC in strikeouts looking with 58 on the season. For all of her efforts Arnold has been named the SEC Pitcher or Co-Pitcher of the Week on three different occasions. I Got Your Back Meghan Gregg is one of the best players in the nation. She plays well at shortstop but better than that she is one of the best hitters in the country. Gregg has been walked 37 times this season and 17 of those came with runners in scoring position and twice was with bases loaded. Sophomore Chelsea Seggern has been tasked with protecting Gregg in the event teams want to pitch around her. Seggern has been making teams think twice about pitching around Gregg. Seggern has record 58 RBIs which is second in the SEC and is fourth in the NCAA. When teams have walked Gregg in front of her, Seggern has picked up 18 RBIs for the Lady Vols. 9 Thru 4 Production In the game of softball everyone knows that production is key in being successful. That unit has scored 191 runs, had 274 hits, 23 home runs and 153 RBI s. Leading Things Off Aubrey Leach has a.575 on base percentage and a.548 slugging percentage as the lead off batting for the Lady Vols. Leach is first in the NCAA in runs per game with She is also tops in the NCAA in batting average (13th), hits (9th) and on base percentage (6th) She is first in the SEC in batting avg. (.452), runs scored (69) and on base pct (.575). She has managed to reach base every game this season with the exception of two games the Oregon game back on Feb. 24 at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic and the third game in the Auburn series. She has earned a spot on the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 25 Finalist List. Non-Conference Success Tennessee is 30-1 in non-conference games. The Lady Vols have outscored opponents and posted a team ERA of 1.19 against nonconference opponents in The Big Orange hold a (.847) record in non-conference games over the past six seasons. Tennessee vs. Ranked Foes The Lady Vols are 13-9 vs. ranked foes this year with wins over Arizona State, Utah, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Georgia, Auburn, a series sweep of LSU, first series win at Alabama and then taking the series against Kentucky this past weekend. They will face their 11th ranked opponent this weekend when they travel to Starkville to face No. 24/RV Mississippi State. The SEC currently has 10 teams ranked in the top 25. Key Returners Tennessee returns 17 letterwinners from last season, including seven positional starters and starting pitcher Matty Moss and 2107 SEC Player of the Year Meghan Gregg. Sophomores who are expected to have a bigger role this season include P Caylan Arnold and IF Chelsea Seggern. Other key returners include P Matty Moss, OF CJ McClain, UT Scarlet McSwain, IF Aubrey Leach and OF Jenna Holcomb. Senior Studs Lady Vols seniors Meghan Gregg, Scarlet McSwain and CJ McClain are coming up big for Tennessee this season. As a group they scored 86 runs and had 100 RBIs and 124 hits to start the season. They also had 23-home runs. Strong Pitching Tennessee softball has recorded 332 strikeouts as a staff but what s impressive is that they have record 90 while looking which is tops in the SEC. The staff also has an ERA of 2.29 while holding opponents to a.209 batting average. They have eight saves on the season, which is the top in the SEC and they are tied for second in the conference in wins with 42. Moss has picked up 32 strikeouts looking and is first in the SEC in saves with five in Review Tennessee advanced to their 14th straight NCAA Tournament and 15th overall last season. They also hosted their 13th consecutive regional. The Vols were nearly unbeatable at home in 2016, posting a 24-3 record overall and a 22-1 mark during the regular season. UT boasted a potent offense, finishing eighth in the nation in scoring at 6.37 runs per game. The Vols also finished eighth nationally in on-base percentage and 19th in batting average. Meghan Gregg was name NFCA All-American

3 and SEC Player of the Year while Caylan Arnold was selected as SEC Freshman of the Year. Meghan Gregg, Matty Moss and Brooke Vines were named All-SEC while Caylan Arnold and Chelsea Seggern were named to the All- Freshman Team. NFCA Hall of Fame Karen Weekly will be inducted into the 28th class of the NFCA Hall of Fame in December 2018 joining husband Ralph who was inducted in Both Weeklys are members of the 1,000 wins club. Karen is ranked 18th Nationally with 1,067 career wins and Ralph is fourth all-time among Division I softball coaches with 1,345 wins. The Streak Tennessee has won 95 consecutive games against in-state opponents. The Vols are 90-0 against in-state teams under co-head coaches Ralph & Karen Weekly. UT is all-time against teams from the state of Tennessee. Stuedeman is now second all-time in program history with 237 career wins. Morgan Bell has tied the program record for grand slams with her two grand slams this season. Freshmen Mia Davidson has hit 16 home runs, which ties UT s Meghan Gregg and Georgia s Alyssa DiCarlo for the most in the SEC. The 16 home runs also third most in a single-season in Mississippi State softball history. Davidson is also leads the SEC in total bases (128) In the circle Holly Ward has an ERA of 1.32 with her 143 strikeouts.
