3 The area is divided into three zones Common area Organic farming Organic market Museum Yoga Pavilion Climbing Wall Residential zone Staff area Hostel unit Guest House The idea was to design a school for people who aspire to be a mountaineer. It is a proposed site in Assam, India. The additional space in the site is converted into organic farming land, hence providing income to the nearby villagers. The space is designed, keeping in mind the concept of free running. Hence the entire site, including the residential and institutional space used as a free running space. 5 Staff area The staff and hostel area come in the residential zone. They also serve as the free running space, as the structure is in the form of a monolithic dome. 8 Inspiration Vo Trong Nghia He is a Vietnamese architect who does a great deal of work with Bamboo as the primary material. This pavilion is supported with bamboo columns. The sculptural units are part of the support system on which the bamboo columns will rest. Y O G A P A V I L I O N

14 POKI ROBO This toy is designed in a manner that it can help in increasing a child s cognitive skills. Every ball unit can be detached and attached to create any form. I have deigned an IT, not restricted to being a male or a female. T O Y D E S I G N

15 This tap fixture is designed for BMW. The tap body has two strips running on its surface. The red strip glows when hot water is running and blue strip glows for cold water. The centre unit is glass with the BMW logo on it. The glass unit adds to the aesthetical feature as the water running is vsible. T A P F I X T U R E

25 a b Wooden battens This chair was designed keeping in mind the lifestyle of students and young professionals who are always on the go. This is a portable chair that can be folded easily. 27 TANA Mask cut-out Wooden carving The name Tana is a Hindi word which means the bark of a tree. This furniture unit is created by carving a single bark of a tree. It is designed for a ritual theatre that is practised in the trans Himalayan region of India. The festival is called Ramman There are performers who dance wearing masks. 31 This documentary is promoting the vernacular structures of the trans- Himalayan region. This is a 200 years old house representing the housing of the Garhwali region. The traditional food of the Himalayan region has major health benefits. We have tried to create a concoction of the traditional food with the western cuisine. These concoctions are now being served in the five star restaurants. The villagers of this region have a major role in creating these concoctions. D O C U M E N T A R Y
