1 BOOTY CLAIM TECHNICAL REPORT FOR EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT Tenure Number: Claim Name: BOOTY.. Mining Division: Carib, Map HB Spectacle Lakes NTS or BCGS Location: Lat 5 deg. 02 min., Long 121 deg. 25 min. UTM Coordinates for centre of assessment area: FP Aerial Photo Numbers : OBCC97185 No. 122, No. 12 Claim Owner: Lawrence Nester Baraniuk, FMC Operator: L. N. 2 BOOTY CLAIM TECHNICAL REPORT, 2006 Author: L. Baraniuk This daim is well documented; having previously been drifted (in the 1890 s), then later hydrauliced until the 1950 s. Geological data and a description of the overburden, its depth, pay gravels, their width and depth, and even their values as well as total production are all recorded in various reports, bulletins, or memoirs, or publications. These are referrenced in this report, without the use of extensive quotations. This claim over the years has had numerous names in the various referrences quoted, and sometimes causes confusion. Guyet Placer, Quartz Gulch, Gold Run are the names referred to and it seems the name changes with the era. This daim is characterized by steep terrain and limited access. That hasn t changed since work was initially begun in the 1890 s. It is also characterized by deep overburden - up to 160 feet in depth. lnitialfy this was a dry gulch but dud the summer of 1909 a crew built a ditch to bring water from around the shoulder of Guyet TI ountain (MEMOIR 149). This provided the water for a hydraulicing operation, and provides a small water source for sluicing to this day. During the hydraulicing era a pit was washed, measuring about 600 yards in length and 150 yards wide and 160 feet deep (estimated). All the overburden and pay gravels were washed down the gulch and into the 200 foot deep (estimated) Antler Creek Canyon. The exposed pit walls provided Levson and Giles a clean profile of the geological layers and their extent, right down to bedrock (BULLETIN 89). Access to the head of the pit by machinery is now up the huge tailings pile in the canyon h a Masted and hydrauliced cut through Schist bedrock, then up the bottom pit to its head end. During this process you continually dimb, as steep in the Schist rock cut. The total distance travelled is less than 1 kilometer (under 1 O00 yards), yet you have an elevation gain of about 70 feet. To describe it better this report relies heavily on an accurate photographic record, and has included in its submission a total of 16 photos measuring a generous 6 x 8 inches. The photos show the extent of the historic workings and the fresh work being done - the subject of this report. 2

21 DETAILED EXPLANATION OF TYPE OF EXPLORATION The major thrust of this year s exploration was to use machinery. Prior to this year all work was done by hand. To procure authorization to use machinery a Mlning Permit was obtained. Mines Act Permit: - P-I Approval Number: A sizeable amount of the exploration work centered on roadbuilding. Without access no machinery could perform its work. Conversely it took machinery to reconstruct the old original roadbed to a state that was passible by offroad equipment, to haul the wash plant, pumps and hoses. That done the work then turned to constructing a total of pits of dflering sizes; a water intake pond, a primary settling pond and a secondary settli pond, in compliance with the Mining Permit. Work then turned to handwork to build a sma 7 I wingdam to divert some of the waterflow through the water intake pond. The pond being necessary to prevent pumps from cavitating. One other item; to level a spot at the head of the primary pond to set up the 12 inch vibrating sluice (Flying Dutchman). This again was expedited with the machine. All machine work was done with a trackhoe. This choice of machine proved to be the best compromise for the work at hand. After all this was done then test pits were dug with the trackhoe. In places the pits went to bedrock. In other spots where bedrock was deeper the pits were always stopped by hard digging in silty, boulder laden material. The material excavated from the three pits was also tested. Material testing was all done with either a Rota-Pan or the Wng Dutchman sliuce. Small samples were concentrated with the Rota-Pan, then panned out with a gold pan. Larger samples were washed with the Flying Dutchman, then panned. The criteria between the two test methods lay mainly in the nature of the material encountered in each test pit. All test pits were backfilled to their previous contour. 5
22 ITEMIZED COST STATEMENT Work start date: September 01 BOO6 (inclusive) Work stop date: September 05/2006 (inclusive) Total value of work: $2, Hydraulic trackhoe (under 15,900 $ hr. A total of 10 hrs. excavating (as per hour meter) Wages 10 hrs. Laborer 20.00thr. 10 hrs. Laborer 20.00hr 10 hrs. Fuel Lodging (party of ) Food (missing a lot of the bills) $1,Ooo.Oo
23 SUMMARY No gold was found in any of the samples. Digging was very hard for a small machine and hopelessly impossible by hand without using a pick -0 neither being glorious work. No gravel was found either, wherever bedrock was reached near exposed rock, nor anyplace else. This year s exploration results can be summarized in one word DISAPPOINTING. Perhaps the Old Timers got it all! It is a great way to spend money, perhaps a close second to Farming. It is always exciting to go to the daim. One is filled with some anticipation, a sense of adventure, some nostalgia because of the historic significance of this pit, and some hope -- that maybe the Old Timers didn t get it all. This claim is very hard to work due to several factors. Access to the pit is very difficult due to the steep gradient. The high elevation causes pumps and all other machinery to perform poorly, be hard to start, and be sluggish from a performance point. Water pressure suffers. The work area is also quite limited in size. But because the top 150 feet of overburden has been removed, one thinks that accessing gold bearing gravels should be easy -- NOT SO... STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS OF THE AUTHOR OF THIS REPORT The author of this report also physically staked this 2 Post claim (now a Legacy Claim), and is the sole recorded holder of this claim. The author is a graduate from NAlT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) in Forest Technology (1 972). 7
