5 -1-1. INTRODUCTION In the period June 30 to July 3, 2017, a seismic refraction investigation was carried out for Blackwater Explorations Ltd. at the northernmost extension of the inferred northwestsoutheast paleo-channel on the property. This elongate, topographic low feature was identified by inspection of satellite imagery and air photos and by ground reconnaissance along numerous logging roads bisecting the area. A Survey Location Plan of the area is shown at a scale of 1:200,000 in Figure 1. The purpose of the seismic refraction survey was to profile the basal conglomerate layer that outcrops in the Blackwater River at the northernmost extent of the property. The survey information would be utilized to compare the calculated seismic velocity at the conglomerate exposure with prior seismic refraction work carried out downstream and at the historic Canyon and Tertiary mines to the south. In all, one traverse was completed in the investigation adjacent to the Blackwater River. A Site Plan of the survey area showing the position of the seismic traverse is shown at 1:75,000 scale in Figure 2. The Blackwater X claim, PC is 42 km northwest of Quesnel. Access to the claim is by the north Fraser Hwy. to Bouchie Lake, then by Blackwater Road to Charleson Creek (1100) Road. The 1100-J Road, the 1100-K Rd and the Charleson Creek Ranch's ATV trails access various parts of the 12 km long claim. The site discussed herein was reached by the Charleson Creek Forest Service Road. The claim covers an area of hectares. * Blackwater Explorations Ltd., Seismic Refraction Investigation, Placer Gold Exploration, Quesnel, B.C., July, Russell A. Hillman, P.Eng. Project BLK-570.

7 -3-2. THE SEISMIC REFRACTION SURVEY METHOD 2.1 Equipment The seismic refraction investigation was carried out using a Geometrics, Geode 24 channel, signal enhancement seismograph, and Oyo Geospace 10 Hz geophones. Geophone intervals along the multicored seismic cables were maintained at 5 metres in order to penetrate to the bedrock surface and produce high resolution data on subsurface layering. Energy was provided by a seismic "Buffalo Gun" developed by the Geological Survey of Canada. The energy source was placed in deep auger holes and impacted with a metal hammer striking an oval strike plate at the ground surface. The instant of impact simultaneously triggers the seismograph to initiate the recording process. 2.2 Survey Procedure For each spread, the seismic cable was stretched out in a straight line and the geophones implanted. Six separate 'shots' were then initiated: one at either end of the geophone array, two at intermediate locations along the seismic cable, and one off each end of the line, to ensure adequate coverage of the basal layer. The shots were detonated individually and arrival times for each geophone were recorded digitally in the seismograph. Throughout the survey, notes were recorded regarding seismic line positions in relation to topographic and geological features in the area. Relative elevations on the seismic lines were recorded by chain and inclinometer. Positioning information for line locations was gathered during surveying using a Garmin 60Cx handheld unit. 2.3 Interpretive Method The final interpretation of the seismic data was arrived at using the method of differences technique. This method utilizes the time taken to travel to a geophone from shot points located to either side of the geophone. Using the total time, a small vertical time is computed which represents the time taken to travel from the refractor up to the ground surface. This time is then multiplied by the velocity of each overburden layer to obtain the thickness of each layer at that point.

8 -4-3. GEOPHYSICAL RESULTS 3.1 General The results of the seismic refraction traverse are shown at a scale of 1:250 in Figure 3, in the Appendix. The ground surface topography along the seismic line was produced from chain and inclinometer measurements and is approximate. 3.2 Discussion The seismic refraction traverse was located at the top of a steep, erosional bank of conglomerate approximately 10 to 12 metres above the Blackwater River. In this area, the bottom and sides of the river are also comprised of conglomerate. This conglomerate bedrock is believed to be the source of alluvial placer gold that has been continuously mined at this location and immediately downstream, for the last 30 to 40 years. The subsurface underlying seismic line SL-0+00N is comprised of three distinct velocity layers. The thin, surficial 290 metre per second (m/s) layer is consistent with surficial exposures and shallow shotgun hole intersections of loose organics, sands, gravels and occasional cobbles. Underlying the surficial layer is an intermediate layer with a compressional wave velocity of 1570 m/s. Varying in interpreted thickness from one to four metres, this layer is interpreted as saturated silt, sands and gravels, stiff to very stiff silt and fine sands or weathered bedrock. The basal layer with a velocity of 2970 m/s is the interpreted competent bedrock surface. Based on the velocity magnitude and the proximity of conglomerate outcroppings at and immediately below the south-west end of the traverse at geophone no. 12, this layer is believed to consistent with competent, coarse conglomerate. The bedrock surface is undulating but rises away from the river and to the northeast about 9 degrees. The 2970 m/s velocity determined for the bedrock on line SL-1+00 N is in good agreement with velocities established for conglomerate at the Tertiary mine, located approximately 23 km south-east of the SL-1+00N survey area. In that investigation*, a direct measurement on conglomerate outcrop yielded a velocity of 2450 m/s. The range in velocities in drillhole intersections varied from 2600 m/s to 2800 m/s, with one errant instance of a velocity over 6800 m/s. * Blackwater Explorations Ltd., Blackwater Project, History of the Tertiary Channel of the Fraser River, it's Potential to Host Placer Gold Deposits and the Potential of it Extending onto the Blackwater Placer Property, K.V.Campbell, Ph.D., P.Geo., November, 2009

9 -5-4. LIMITATIONS The depth to subsurface boundaries derived from seismic refraction surveys are generally accepted as accurate to within fifteen percent of the true depths to boundaries. In some cases, unusual geological conditions may produce false or misleading data points with the result that computed depth to subsurface boundaries may be less accurate. In seismic refraction surveying difficulties with a 'hidden layer' or a velocity inversion may produce erroneous depths. The first condition is caused by the inability to detect the existence of layers because of insufficient velocity contrasts or layer thickness. A velocity inversion exists when an underlying layer has a lower velocity than the layer directly above. The interpreted depths shown on drawings are to the closest interface location, which may not be vertically below the measurement point if the refractor dip direction departs significantly from the survey line location. The results are interpretive in nature and are considered to be a reasonably accurate representation of existing subsurface conditions within the limitations of the seismic refraction method. Russell Hillman, P.Eng.
