16 ESMERALDA project What we do Enhancing ecosystem services mapping for policy and Decision making Determination what relevant stakeholders expect form Ecosystem Services mapping; Identification of suitability existing ES maps in Poland for an implementation by policy makers and other stakeholders; Analyse of ES assesment for Poland regarding to the role of scaling, synergies or trade-offs, their shifting in time and space and reversibility; Testing of possibility to include a new data, indicators and processing methods for next generation of ES maps; Present the achived results at conferences and in scientific papers. 16
17 Conclusions URBAN MAES ECOSYSTEM SERVICES ON URBAN AREAS Phase I Urban Atlas BDOT to assess part of ecosystem services land cover or land use data need to be complement with other databases; asessment of some of ecosystem services need more detailed typology of land use/land cover ; part of ecosystem services is generated by ecosystems only in particular places egz. mass stabilisation; part of ecosystem services is generated by all ecosystems, however prioritisation is needed; level of ecosystem services is changing in time 17
