If you don't know - guess! 214 Blood Moon Rising 1 Huge snowstorms. Floods. Tornados. Volcanic eruptions. Actually despite warnings from two Christian preachers in the USA none of these events happened this week. Why was the World predicted to suffer massive ecological damage? Well the answer lies in a rare celestial event - a solar eclipse or Blood Moon. A Blood Moon occurs when the moon s orbit is extremely close to the Earth and appears very big and glowing grey in the sky. 2 The lunar eclipse or Blood Moon is a very rare event and this is the first time people can witness it happening since In the 20th Century the Blood Moon only happened four times - in 1910, 1928, 1946 and The next Blood Moon is scheduled to happen in 18 years time in The best place to have watched the Blood Moon was in North America when the Blood Moon appeared in the sky just after sunrise on September 27th. In Africa, Europe and the Middle East the Blood Moon appeared in the early hours of the morning on September 28th, a few hours before sunrise. 4 Aside from a spectacular view of the night sky the other great thing about a Blood Moon is that you don t need special protective ear-wear to observe it.
