7 Sailing Highlights Fakarava is as beautiful above as it is under the water. Its home to the second largest and most picturesque lagoon in the Tuamoto Atolls and its also where your Super Yacht adventure begins! The most exquisite islets form a ring around Fakaravas lagoon where a quiet elegance of marine life lives in abundance in its crystal clear waters. It features fluorescent corals and divinely warm water, home to some of the most wondrous dive and snorkel sites, where hundreds of hungry sharks gather in schools to be joined by manta rays and bottle-nosed dolphins. Drift diving through the 1200m wide channel at North Fakarava Island, you can experience incredible shark action, see huge Napoleon wrasses and witness marbled groupers spawning. A typical diving day will see you cruising through channels and exploring the outer reefs of the atolls, yet there are numerous shallow dive sites within the Tuamotu Archipelago, each with stunning hard corals, sheltering all manner of crustaceans and molluscs. Here, the world seems unblemished. Life in the small villages, with their bougainvillea lined roads, bright coral churches, quaint homes where time seems to stand still.
8 Rangiroa is the largest of the Tuamotu Atolls and the second largest in the world. Its quite possibly the world s most immense natural aquarium. Blessed with an accessible yet secluded appeal and a large abundant lagoon, this renowned destination should be at the top of every snorkeller and diver s list. Within the reefs and channels you can expect to see grey reef hammerhead, black tips, silky, tiger and silver tip shark species cruising the reef, hunting on schools of snapper and fusiliers The Avatoru Pass and Tiputa Pass, both located on the northern side of the atoll, produce currents that are ideal for drift diving or snorkeling. They are also known to attract schools of wild dolphins and Graceful Manta Rays.. The Lagon Bleu, located on the western side of Rangiroa, is a shallow lagoon carved into the reef inside the central lagoon, creating a small natural aquarium no more than 16 feet (5 meters) deep. Boasting a continuous supply of fish, deep-sea fishing and surfing is also a popular water activity in Rangiroa. You will fall in love with this oceanic wonder of the Tuamotos with snorkelling and diving you can only dream about

10 F A Q ' S Why do whales come to the island of whales Between August and November each year whales come into the crystal clear waters to mate, give birth and nuture their young. Rurutu does not have a fringing reef, and the waters are shallow and crystal clear making this the perfect destination for whales to stop and rest before their migration home What is the water temp and visibility in Rurutu? Visibility: 30-60m/ ft. Water Temperature: C/75-77 F. Best time to travel to Tahiti? Although the temperatures are balmy year-round, Tahiti s winter season enjoys less humidity. Tahiti really only experiences two distinct seasons: Winter brings less rain and pleasant temperatures while the summertime November through April can be unbearably hot and humid, not to mention rainy. September/October is the perfect time to be there if you would like to experience swimming with the Majestic South Pacific Humpback Whales which is why we have chosen these as the perfect months for MWE guests!
