3 MEDIA INFORMATION Media Availability Interviews for Bulldog players and coaches will be coordinated through the Fresno State Athletics Communications Office 24 hours in advance to ensure availability. Contact Matt Burkholder at (559) to make arrangements. No interviews on Monday s - the team s day off. Game Day Interviews No interviews on game days for players or coaches until after the game. A 10 minute cooling-off period will be enforced following each game. Media is not permitted in the clubhouse, dugout or the field. At Beiden Field media is requested to wait on the third base side underneath the Dugout Club tent. Mike Batesole Weekly Media Availability Mike Batesole will address the media weekly at Beiden Field to preview all three-game weekend series. For all home series beginning on Friday there will be media availability on Thursday, an will be distrubted by Matt Burkholder for the time of day. For road series, availability is contingent on travel schedules. s will be distributed at least 24 hours in advance for notice of the coaches availability. Credential Will Call Credentials will be available on gamedays at the satelite ticket office on the 3rd base side of Beiden Field. Non-working individuals will not be permitted in any designated media areas, including the press box, auxiliary media seating, or postgame press conferences. The Wagner series leads into a three-game set versus UC Davis over the weekend, completing a fivegame homestand over a six-day span at Beiden Field. The Bulldogs homecoming will be welcome a sight, as Fresno State boasts a 7-2 record at Beiden Field, versus now a 0-7 road record after being swept in its four game series at Oregon State last weekend. Fresno State s weekend rotation of Jimmy Lambert, Dylan Lee and Garrett Mundell all had solid outings in the losses in Corvallis. Lambert allowed one run in a 2-1, 11 inning loss on Friday, Lee allowed two earned runs in a 5-2 defeat Saturday, and Mundell was outmatched in the second 2-1 Fresno State loss of the series on Sunday. The second game of the doubleheader got away from Fresno State with Dominic Topoozian making his first career start. On the other side, the Bulldog run support was minimal as the team produced six runs over four games. Fresno State was limited to a team.167 batting average against a stout Oregon State pitching staff. Senior captain Manny Argomaniz was one of the Bulldogs bright spots from the batters box in the OSU series, he went 3-for-3 on Sunday and produced his eighth double of the season tied for the Mountain West lead. The Bulldogs, back at Beiden, own a team.287 batting average on its home field and will look to get back on track against a winless Wagner (0-5-1) squad. The Seahawks dropped its last three games to Bakersfield last weekend to kickoff of a California road swing for the team from Staten Island, New York. In six games, Wagner owns a.182 team batting average while its pitching staff has a 6.39 team earned run average. Its best hitter in 2015 is Ben Ruta, who is 8-for-24 (.333) with two doubles and a triple. Wagner will start RHP Nick Pavia (0-0, ERA) Tuesday and RHP Eric McGough (0-0, 4.50 ERA) on Wednesday. Pavia has appeared in one game, surrendering three earned runs in 2/3 innings work. McGough will make his first start of 2015 too. The righty has made two appearances, working a total of two innings. RHP Tim Borst (1-1, 7.00 ERA) is projected to make his second consecutive Tuesday start for Fresno State. On March 2 versus Sacramento State, the junior pitched five innings of scoreless work and allowed just two hits. LHP Anthony Arias will make his first career start on Wednesday for the Bulldogs. Fresno State, 2-1 (11) Fresno State found itself in its third extra inning game of the season in the series opener at Oregon State, eventually falling to a walk-off home run to the lead off batter in the 11th inning - surrendered by William Munro against the first batter he faced out of the bullpen. In the end, two solo home runs sealed the Beavers victory, one in the sixth and the walk-off in the 11th, in what was a pitchers dual between the two programs Friday night aces - Jimmy Lambert and Andrew Moore. Saturday, March 7 (Game 14) - Oregon State def. Fresno State, 5-2 In the first game of a Saturday doubleheader in Corvallis, the Bulldogs opened the scoring in the first with one run, only to be outdone by two Beaver runs in the home half. Oregon State held the lead for the remainder of the game despite Fresno State outhitting the Beavers 9-to-6. Dylan Lee took the loss in 6 1/3 innings worked on the mound. He allowed just two earned run on four hits. Saturday, March 7 (Game 15) - Oregon State def. Fresno State, 12-2.Oregon State sealed its third win in the third inning during the second game of the scheduled doubleheader. The Beavers registered eight runs on seven hits as OSU batted around the order. The offense Oregon State produced in the third inning alone, bested its final scoring lines of the first two games. Oregon State hit five consecutive RBI base hits in the third, including three-straight doubles against Bulldog reliever Anthony Arias. Aaron Arruda connected for a two-rbi double in the fourth that scored the Bulldogs two runs. Sunday, March 8 (Game 16) - Oregon State def. Fresno State, 2-1 Fresno State was led by Sunday starter Garrett Mundell, who surrendered two runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings. The senior struck out a season-high five batters against one walk in a solid outing on the bump. Although, the Beavers two runs, one in the first, and another in third, was all that Oregon State needed to take down the Dogs. Fresno State put a leadoff hitter on base six times, but were doubled up in four of those frames. Dogs Picked Fifth in Mountain West Fresno State will have to lean on veteran leadership to improve on its fifth-place Mountain West preseason nod, and 2014 fifth-place finish. The Dogs received 22 votes, and one first-place vote, as voted upon by league coaches in the annual coaches poll. Defending MW regular season co-champion New Mexico was predicted to win the 2015 title. San Diego State, winners of the 2014 MW Tournament, was predicted second. UNLV, the other co-champion of the 2014 MW regular season was selected to a thirdplace tie along with Nevada. The Bulldogs posted a conference record in 2014 and overall mark a season ago. In the postseason conference tournament, Fresno State won one game in the double-elimination tournament.
