2 Introduction An earthquake occurs when there is a sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust. At the Earth's surface, earthquakes manifest themselves by shaking and sometimes displacing the ground. Tectonic earthquakes will occur anywhere within the earth where there is ample elastic strain of energy to drive fracture propagation along a fault plane. Our project is to essentially reenact earthquakes using three dominate plate boundaries. (Convergent, Transform, and Divergent) Trough our demonstration it will be clear how plate boundaries differ, how they collide, and how they affect the earth s crust.
3 Project In this project we want people to be able to better understand how earthquakes work. We as a team built an earthquake machine to simulate three different kinds of earthquakes. In the process of showing these we also demonstrate the idea of plate tectonics and give a visual representation of how a fault line looks during an earthquake. We simulated a transform, divergent, and convergent earthquake. You will not only learn the difference between the three different types of earthquakes but see how the plates act in each one.
4 Service Our project will serve the community by giving teachers an easy and fun way to explain how earthquakes occur. Using the video and the interactive PowerPoint teachers can show the three different types of plate tectonics that are shown.

7 Skills As a team we plan to grow in the ability to work with others and to develop better team building skills. Individually we plan to grow as a person and to become comfortable with oral communication skills. We plan to have a greater understanding of how to put together PowerPoint and the use of all the technology available to us. We hope that our organizational skills improve for our professional jobs in the feature.
8 Methodology By both applying the Quake Maker model and the PowerPoint activity learners will gain an applicable and working knowledge of the theory of plate tectonics and Earthquake types and boundary zones. The application of safety procedures and measuring and predicting also provide the learner with further skills. We included a quiz and review to provide feedback to the learner.

10 Results As a team it was important to be well organized and render excellent communication skills. Our team worked well together to arrange times to work on the project outside of class. Our team also divided work so that we could get more done at one time. We had a lot of fun on this project and also learn about lesson planning, standards, and team work.
