5 Marble Marble is formed when limestone is subjected to heat and pressure and undergo metamorphism reaction. Calcite, initially formed by lithified fossil materials, recrystallizes during the metamorphic activity to change the texture of the rock. 6 Sandstone Sandstone is a sedimentary rock consists of a mixture of sand size grains of minerals, organic material and clay-size particles in between, bounded together by a cementing material.
