Students should know: The discovery and development periods of microbiology, structural features of microorganisms, morphology, ultrastructural and macromolecular content of prokaryotic cells, cultivation and growth properties of microorganisms, methods (manner) of identification and nomenclature of microorganisms, their diversity and principles of classification, metabolism of microorganisms and features of nutrition, the attitude of microorganisms to the environmental factors (temperature, pressure, molecular oxygen), the presence of microorganisms in the biogeochemical process, the features of relationship forms of microorganisms with plants and animals, prevalence of microorganisms (fungi, bacteria and viruses). Students must be able to: - Know main microbiological methods - Work with microscope - Know different methods of slide preparation and cultivation techniques of microorganisms - Prepare different types of medium

3 - Sterilize - Isolate microorganisms and cultivate them - Determine the number of microorganisms in the air, water and other liquid mediums and obtain pure microbial cultures from these sources - Identify microorganisms II.
