4 RE NEWS: Nat ion al Sor r y Day This Friday 25th May, 2018, is recognised as National Sorry Day. National Sorry Day is an Australiawide observance held on 26th May each year. This day gives people the chance to come together and share the steps towards healing for the Stolen Generations, their families and communities. Stolen generations refer to Indigenous Australians who were forcibly removed from their families and communities. We will acknowledge this day at St. Mary?s by praying for all Australians, that through the power of God?s love and Jesus?message of?love one another as I have loved you?, we may continue to work together towards peace and reconciliation. There will be a Prayer Service at 1.30pm under the weather shed. Year 6 RE Test All Year 6 students in Catholic Diocesan schools in NSW, will participate in an RE Test on Wednesday, 13th June (Week 7). This test is run by the Sydney Catholic Education Office. Cacao Bl i ss Bal l s Available from the Canteen. 50c each Recipe In gr edien t s: 150g (approx. 1 cup) ground mixed seeds firmly packed 20g (2 tablespoons) chia or flax seeds, ground 80g (1 cup) desiccated coconut 30g (1/4 cup) cacao powder (use more for a richer chocolate flavour) 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 85g (1/4 cup) sweetener (rice malt syrup, maple syrup, honey) 100g (1/2 cup) raw extra virgin coconut oil 1 teaspoon vanilla powder, extract or essence M et h od: In a bowl or food processor combine the seeds, chia or flax, coconut, cacao and cinnamon. Add the sweetener, coconut oil and vanilla and mix until combined. Roll into small balls and toss in the extra coconut or cacao if desired. This is a great job for the kids. Place on a tray lined with baking paper and pop in the fridge or freezer to set. Var iat ion s: Lowfructose: Choose rice malt syrup as your sweetener Cacaofree: Replace cacao with carob powder. Tip: Sometimes I just don't have the patience to roll balls. This mixture can also be pressed into a tin lined with baking paper, chilled to set and then cut into squares and stored. P & F Fr esh M ar k et St all Please circle: I would be able to make donations to the Fresh Market Stall throughout the year. I would be willing to volunteer to help run the Fresh Market Stall at different times throughout the year. Name: Phone: 6
