We collected 100 Kudos as a team and our prize was pizza, yummy desserts, popcorn, and got to watch movies and do arts and craft as well. 4 Deaf Awareness Block Party Journalism Class Please join us for our community block party to celebrate National Deaf Awareness month! We invite ALL members of the community, deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing, along with their friends and family, to come and visit the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center to see what services we provide to the community. There will be food trucks, beer, face painting, games, etc. We hope to see you there!

6 SPORTS By: Charles Special Olympics Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults 8 years of age and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The athletes are also invited to participate in Athlete Leadership and Healthy Athletes programs. There are currently 9 sports offered. There is 1,382 athletes throughout Lee County. Over 480 people from our community give their time to volunteer each year. Justin Copertino (754) is the Lee County contact. You can also find them on Facebook. 7 SPECIAL EVENT Page 7 By: Grant Science Saturday at the IMAG Sat, Sep 1st, 2018 Science Saturday occurs on the 1st Saturday of every month. Interactive experiences above and beyond IMAG s 60+ exhibits are stationed throughout the center from 11a.m. 2p.m. These activities are included in the price of admission. General Admission Adults: $14 Seniors (55+): $12 Children/Students (with ID): $10 Children 2 & Under: FREE Parking: FREE Florida Sales Tax will be added to these prices when applicable.

8 Recipe By: David M. Baked Buffalo Wings "These easy to make hot wings are crispy without being fried. Wings are always yummy to snack on. They only take 10 minutes for prep, but need to be refrigerated for about an hour so the flour coating is firm. You can add more cayenne or use a higher hot sauce to butter ratio if you like them spicier! Enjoy." Ingredients: 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 20 chicken wings 1/2 cup melted butter 1/2 cup hot pepper sauce (such as Frank's RedHot(R)) Directions: 1. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, and lightly grease with cooking spray. Place the flour, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and salt into a resealable plastic bag, and shake to mix. Add the chicken wings, seal, and toss until well coated with the flour mixture. Place the wings onto the prepared baking sheet, and place into the refrigerator. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. 2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Whisk together the melted butter and hot sauce in a small bowl. Dip the wings into the butter mixture, and place back on the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven until the chicken is no longer pink in the center, and crispy on the outside, about 45 minutes. Turn the wings over halfway during cooking so they cook evenly.
