I think it s an excellent idea for the system to have urgent care, said Robert Johnson, RN, MSN, FNP-C, director of ETMC Urgent Care. You usually get right in. You re not in line behind seriously ill or injured patients (As in a hospital emergency room) and going to an emergency room for routine healthcare is costly for patients and wasteful of resources. Sometimes, however, it can be hard to tell: When there s an injury or illness in your family, should you go to an emergency room or urgent care? Johnson said these guidelines may help you and your family. 2 P A G E 2 When the onset of symptoms has been gradual If your complaint is one you normally would rake to your primary care doctor, but the office is closed. Call 911 for an ambulance to take you to an emergency room in these situations: Severe injuries threatening life or limb You suspect it might be a heart attack or stroke Ambulance crews often can begin delivering lifesaving treatment on the way to the hospital. 3 P A G E 3 Bacon, Ham and Egg Wrap Ingredients: 1 Tbsp. mayonnaise 4 slices reduced-sodium ham 2 tsp. Dijon mustard 2 slices Swiss cheese 2 tsp. honey 4 medium lettuce leaves 4 slices reduced-sodium bacon 4 slices tomato 2 large (10-inch) tortillas 2 large eggs, beaten Directions: In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard and honey. Set aside. Place a skillet on medium heat and cook the bacon until crisp (about 4 minutes each side). Remove bacon from skillet and place on paper towels to drain. Wipe the skillet clean and return to heat. Place each tortilla in the skillet for about 30 seconds or until lightly browned. Place each tortilla on a place. Top with 2 tsp. of the honey Dijon, two slices of ham, one slice of cooked bacon, on slice of cheese, two lettuce leaves and two tomato slices; set aside. Spray the skillet with cooking spray and carefully pour a beaten egg into the skillet. When the egg is set, flip and let it cook an additional 20 seconds. Remove from heat and place on wrap. Carefully roll up wrap and slice down the center. Repeat with remaining egg.
