TCU, W5 STAT BREAKDOWN TCU STAT Record Big K/S Hitting % A/S SA/S D/S B/S SERIES NOTES -TCU leads the all-time series record with Texas Tech with a 9-6 record -The match on Saturday will be the 16th meeting all-time between the opponents and the ninth time the teams are facing off in Lubbock -The Frogs are riding a five-match winning streak entering the meeting on Saturday -Since Jill Kramer has arrived in Fort Worth, TCU has not lost to the Red Raiders with two of the wins coming in sweeps, one in four sets and one in five sets -Since joining the Big 12 in 2012, TCU leads the series against Texas Tech at 7-3 SCTING THE OPPONENT: TEXAS TECH -Texas Tech is looking to snap a three-game losing streak as they enter Saturday s showdown -The Red Raiders defeated West Virginia for their only Big 12 win so far this season and have dropped decisions to Baylor (3-1), Iowa State (3-2), Oklahoma (3-0) and Kansas State (3-2) -Emily HIll (3.40 kills/set) and Chandler Atwood (3.12 kills/set) are pacing the Texas Tech offense with over 3.00 kills per set -Katy Keenan and Sarah Redding are also contributing with 2.25 and 2.31 kills per set, respectively -Missy Owens is guiding the offense this season with assists per set while also picking up 2.05 digs per set -Reyn Akiu and Kate Klepetka are the anchors in the back row with 4.65 and 3.64 digs per set, respectively -The defense at the net is being led this year by Allison White who is record 0.97 blocks per set with 65 total blocks RECAP: TEXAS STATE -In the final non-conference match of the season, the TCU volleyball team stumbled to Texas State and dropped a 3-1 (25-17, 25-22, 15-25, 25-16) decision on Tuesday night -The quick turnaround from Sunday hurt the Horned Frogs as they struggled to bounce back on Tuesday night with the Bobcats quickly going up 2-0 in the match TCU found its stride in the third set as the Frogs hit.229 and recorded five total blocks to get on the board -TCU could not carry the momentum into the fourth set as Texas State went on an early run and never looked back as they took the victory in four sets -Allye Beth Deaton led TCU offensively for the third time this season with 12 kills in the match and also picked up 11 digs to mark her second double-double of the season -Anna Walsh and Abigail Buckingham each put down 11 kills in the match to also contribute offensively -Dani Dennison continued to anchor the back row defense with 20 digs, while Walsh and Sarah Langs each put up 4.0 blocks RPI BREAKDOWN -The second RPI of the season is out and TCU checks in at No. 49 in this week s rankings after checking in at No. 56 in the first rankings of the season -The Horned Frogs have a top-10 strength of schedule for the second consecutive season after boasting the No. 1 strength of schedule last year -TCU has played five matches so far this season against top-50 RPI opponents and the team s only losses this season come to teams ranked inside the top-60 RPI -The Frogs have the second hardest schedule this season in the Big 12 Conference -Six Big 12 teams rank in the top-60 while TCU is set to play in 13 matches this season against opponents currently ranked inside the top-60 RPI SERVE UP THAT ACE -After serving up 50 service aces during nonconference action, TCU is now ranked No. 4 in the Big 12 with 1.08 service aces per set -Kaylee Smith has been a consistent server for the Horned Frogs the last two seasons as she leads the team in 2017 with 0.22 aces per set -Berklie Baker, is not far behind with 0.17 service aces per set while Dani Dennison is good for 0.15 service aces per set -During the preseason road trip to Florida State, TCU had more service aces than its opponents in all three matches and recorded more aces than errors in two of the three matches -TCU has served up more aces than its opponents in nine matches this season 3 DENNISON PICKS IT UP -With the graduation of the three main back row defenders, it has been up to a pair of freshmen to anchor the back row with freshman Dani Dennison earning the libero start in all 16 matches this season -The Huntington Beach, Calif., native led the Big 12 in digs per set through the first two weeks of action and now sits at No. 2 with 4.83 digs per set -Dennison has notched double-digit kills in 16 of the 17 matches this season to lead TCU and has recorded 20+ digs in six matches this season -Berklie Baker is also leaned on heavily in the back row as the newcomer has 1.81 digs per set so far this season

Party! -While in Florida, the chant was heard quite frequently as Martin put down double-digit kills in three straight matches to lead the team with 42 kills and 3.50 kills per set -Martin continued her streak the next two weeks by totaling 3.78 kills through the final two tournaments to go along with 1.94 digs per set -Martin also recorded the first two double-doubles of her career against Utah Valley and SMU -The junior continues to lead the TCU offense after six weeks of action with 2.88 kills per set, 173 kills and 1.28 digs per set -Martin has totaled double-digit kills eight times this season and 20 times in her career Y CAN CNT ON WALSH -Junior Anna Walsh has been a dependable play for TCU on not only offense but also on defense -Walsh is putting down 2.87 kills per set with a.342 hitting clip this season -Walsh has hit above.300 in nine matches this season and eight of the last 11 matches played -The junior is leading the team in Big 12 only matches with 3.59 kills per set to go along with a.364 hitting percentage -Walsh has hit above.300 in four of the five Big 12 matches this season to go along with a team-best 1.06 blocks per set -The Grapevine, Texas native also leads the team in blocking with 0.95 per set including a season-high 8.0 against West Virginia in the Big 12 opener -Walsh has recorded double-digit kills in five of the last seven matches and nine matches this season YNG FROGS -With seven seniors graduating a year ago, TCU will rely heavily this season on a group of freshmen to get it done on the court -So far this season, at least two freshmen have started every match with four getting the nod in the match against Florida State -After redshirting last fall, the highest ranked recruit to every enter TCU in Abigail Buckingham has slowly made her way on the court with 92 kills in nine matches to go along with nine blocks and 17 digs -Three true freshmen in Berklie Baker, Dani Dennison, Sarah Swanson and Allye Beth Deaton have appeared in every match while Dennison has been a part of every set played so far this season -All together, the Frogs have had eight of their nine true or redshirt freshmen see action this season on the court THEY FND A HOME IN FORT WORTH -Five of TCU s primary players did not start their careers in Fort Worth, but quickly found their way to Cowtown. -The TCU 6-2 offense would not be possible without transfers Lamprini Konstantinidou (West Virginia) and Kaylee Smith (Iowa) -Anna Walsh (Virginia) made her way back home after earning AVCA All-East Coast Region Freshman of the Year in 2015 while former club teammate Lexi MacLean (Arizona State) joined the team in January -Junior college transfer Kayla Scheevel (Irvine Community College) rounds out the transfers for the 2017 season CONNECTIONS CONNECTIONS -Now that TCU is in Big 12 play, there are a multitude of connections that can be found between TCU coaches and players and fellow league schools. -Director of Volleyball Jill Kramer is the only coach in the conference to have played and now coach at her alma mater. Kramer was also previously the head coach at West Virginia. -Assistant coach Brian Wright also boasts Big 12 connections, as he was a volunteer for Texas

Texas Kansas Iowa St Baylor Florida St Colorado St TCU West Virginia Duke SMU Rice Kansas State Texas State Texas Tech SA Coastal Caro Oklahoma Lehigh Utah Valley Sam Houston St._ UNC Asheville for seven seasons and helped them to a national title in There is also the TAV (Texas Advantage Volleyball) connection as Anna Walsh and Lexi MacLean have some Texas teammates at TAV when they won a national championship with Longhorns Micaya White and Morgan Johnson WALSH NAMED PRESEASON ALL-BIG 12 -TCU volleyball junior Anna Walsh garnered Preseason All-Big 12 honors. -The preseason team is chosen by league coaches who are not allowed to vote for their own student-athletes. -Walsh, a 6-foot-2 middle blocker, played in all 28 matches and 105 sets last season and recorded 206 total kills which was good for third on the team. -The Grapevine, Texas native led the team in kills in two matches and recorded a.300 hitting percentage or better in 13 matches. -The junior recorded double-digit kills in three matches and finished the season with 72 total blocks and 0.69 blocks per set. -Walsh started 22 matches last fall and was good for 2.31 points per set for the team. -In Big 12 play in 2016, Walsh finished with 115 kills, 1.85 kills per set and.264 hitting clip to go along with 50 total blocks. KRAMER COMES FULL CIRCLE -On Dec. 29, 2014, former TCU volleyball player Jill (Pape) Kramer was named the third head volleyball coach in program history -Kramer was the first scholarship student-athlete for volleyball in school history and still holds multiple schools records including the single-season and career record for kills and total attacks -Kramer had multiple stops before she ended up in Fort Worth.
