In case of mining project, a copy of mining lease /letter of intent should be given. Project Proponent- Shri Vijay kumar Soni is a private individual, ownership of Granite mining project. Address of the Lessee: Shri Vijay Kumar Soni S/o Shri Shiv Dyal Soni R/o-Village & Post, Tehsil - Degana, District - Nagaur (Rajasthan)

(ii) Brief Description of Nature of Project: Mining lease is granted in khasra no. 230,236,237,238,222 in revenue village Jotaya of Tehsil - Sarwar, District - Ajmer (Rajasthan), lease area 3.00Ha. (Enclosed copy of LOI as annexure no. 7). This mining Lease is situated in Jotaya of Tehsil - Sarwar, District - Ajmer (Rajasthan) over an area of 3.00 Ha. It is proposed for mining of mineral Granite. Mining of Granite would be carried out by open cast benching method. The bench height will be kept up to 6 meters the width of the benches will be always more than the height. The mining will start from top towards bottom. Mining will be done by semi-mechanized open cast method. (iii) Need for the project and its importance to the country and region With the growing use of Granite as decorative stone the mining of Granite has received boom in last few years. There is good market for Granite in India and abroad also. In overseas market Granite is also exported in the form of blocks which are used as pillars in large buildings beside decorative slabs. The increasing mining of mineral Granite has uplifted the economy of Granite producing localities which has resulted into upliftment of life standard of the people in the adjoining area, besides contributing to the exchequer of the State and Central Government. (iv) Demand and Supply Gap As mentioned above, the use of Granite as decorative stone is growing constantly. Hence, despite of constantly increasing production of Granite the whole production is consumed in the market and at present supply of Granite is sufficient to fulfill the market demands. (v) Imports v/s Indigenous Production District has a number of Granite mines in the state of Rajasthan. There is abundance of Granite in the area; it had become a major source of economy in the area/region. (vi) Export possibility A sizeable quantity of Granite produced in the State of Rajasthan and in other parts of the country is exported to Middle East and European Country. Project Proponent: Shri Vijay Kumar Soni Page - 11

(vii) Domestic/Exports Markets There is vast domestic and export market for raw and polished Granite. (viii) Employment generation (Direct & Indirect) due to the project By this mining project of Granite in the area, peoples will get employment. The project directly generates the employment for the local people and indirectly for the others. Also the marketing of the product generates the employment for peoples. By this project, approximately persons will get employment from the Granite mining project. 7 (iii) Details of alternate sites considered and the basis of selecting the proposed site, particularly the environmental considerations gone into should be highlighted. No other site has been considered for the proposed project. The land has been allocated by government for the mining only. Site is adequate for Granite mining. (iv) Size and Magnitude of Operation (v) The proposed capacity of the project is as: The total amount of Granite is 9,22,122 MT under proved category reserves, 2,56,230 MT under probable category reserves & 2,56,230 MT under possible category reserves. Total reserves = 14,34,582 MT. Total area of mining lease is 3.00 Ha. Proposed maximum annual targeted production of Granite from the mine will be 60,000MT. Project description with process details (a schematic diagram/flow chart showing the project layout, components of the project etc. should be given) A. Method of Mining The method of mining is open cast. The lease area is covered with soil. The bench height would not be kept greater than the statutory provisions of the prevailing Act i.e. the width of the benches would in no case be less than the height of the bench. Benches of 6 m height have been planned with width more than height of the bench. The mining has been started from East edge of the mineralized area. The required barrier along the mining lease boundary shall be kept 7.5 m. Granite mine has two type of activities i.e. one is removing waste rock/overburden and another mining of granite blocks. Overburden capping from 1.5m to 3.0m is removed by drilling small dia holes, blasted with light explosives charge (to prevent damage to granite blocks from crakes) and the overburden is digged out and removed by poclain CK 90 excavator and Ashok Leyland 10 tone capacity dumper. The muck is transported and dumped in the lease area in initial stage. When granite is exposed, a free face along the strike direction along weak zone of strata is opened out by digging a trench box of 10m x 5m Project Proponent: Shri Vijay Kumar Soni Page - 14

this in local terminology is called Galli preparation. Thus a bench is formed. The height of bench is 6m. vertical holes of 42mm dia are drilled by wagon drill and horizontal hole of 42mm is drilled by LD4. The horizontal hole coincide with vertical hole. Bottom Cut/Side/Back Cut is made with the operation of Wire saw and The big size block (Fada) is separated and toppled by using Jacks. Big size block is further divided into Small blocks by drilling and wedge method/wire saw cut. Table 1.2 Extent of Mechanization S.No Item HP/Capacity Quantity 1 Jack Hammer 32mm 2 2 D.G. Regional Geology The pre-aravallis in rajasthan hitherto known as the banded gneiss complex have been regrouped into the Bhilwara Supergroup which form the oldest stratigraphical horizon around/upon which the entire geological succession of Rajasthan has developed. On the basis of techno-environmental setting, magmatic events, lithological homogeneity and order of supereposition, the rocks have been classified into the Sandamata Complex, Magalwar Complex and Hindoli Group (archean): Rajpura Dariba, Pur Banera, Jahajpur, Sawar and Ranthambor (lower proterozoic). Rocky regions of central Mewar, to the east and south east, comprise essentially igneous rocks of different type and periods of intrusion which have been welded into streakly and banded composite geiss, having wide varations of texture and composition. Bended biotite gneiss and foliated gneissic marnle are the most common members of the sandmata complex which have been Project Proponent: Shri Vijay Kumar Soni Page - 15

intruded by basic dykes and acid sills of widely variable composition and texture. The basement marble gneisses are intruded by many younger marble, basic and ultra basics rocks, and the entire assemblage has been further differentiated into the sandmata complex (granulite facies) and the mangalwar complex (amphibolotes facies) on metamorphic consideration. Local Geology of the area Geologically the area belongs to Bhilwara Supergroup. The granite are the major litho unit of the area. The stratigraphic sequence of the area is as follows: Recent to Sub-recent Bhilwara Super group - Alluvium/Soil cover - Granite In the present area only granite is available D. Yearwise annual production of Granite for next five years Table 1.4 The details of production are as follows Year Masonry Stone (Granite) in MT I 60,000 II 60,000 III 60,000 IV 60,000 V 60,000 TOTAL 3,00,000 E. Mineable Reserves and Anticipated Life of the Mine All insitu reserves will not be possible to mined out as there will be some mineral will be left unmined i.e. in road barrier, ramp etc. it is assumed about 10% so net mineable reserve will be: Project Proponent: Shri Vijay Kumar Soni Page - 16

Total mineable reserves = 14,34,582 MT The proposed rate of production for the first five years is 60,000MT per annum. Expected life of mine on the basis of proved & probable category of reserves from the present targeted rate of production: 14,34,582 MT/60,000 = 24 year. F. Conceptual Mining Plan At the end of the lease period 14,34,582 MT of Granite mineral will be excavated from the lease area. Three benches will be formed at the end of lease period; height will be 6 m. At the conceptual plan period Ha. will be excavated and it will be used as water reservoir. Around Ha. will be planted on unworked area and dump. (vi) Raw material required along with estimated quantity, likely source, marketing area of final products/s, Mode of transport of raw Material and Finished Product. About 5 KLD water will be required for Masonry Stone mining which Project Proponent: Shri Vijay Kumar Soni Page - 17 will be arranged from nearby wells on payment basis. About 500 Lts. diesel will be required daily for JCB & compressor which will be arranged from nearby petrol pumps. Granite blocks mine out will be transported through trucks & trolley. (vii) Resource optimization/recycling and reuse envisaged in the project, if any, should be briefly outlined. Water use for cutting out granite blocks will be allowed to decant & will be re-circulated again for cutting out granite blocks by Wire- saw. (viii) Availability of water its source, Energy/power requirement and source should be given. Total water requirement in the mine will be about 5 KLD for drinking & domestic use, dust suppression and plantation. Drinking water will be brought by water tanker from nearby villages..
