5 Q2 Sales Tax Highlights State Level Standard Rate Changes in Q2 2013: Arizona decreased their sales/ use and rental tax rate from 6.6% to 5.6% in Q2 13. State Level Rate (state designated portion of the sales tax rate): Indiana, Mississippi, Jersey, Rhode Island, and Tennessee tied for the highest state sales tax rate at 7.0%. The second highest state sales tax rate was Minnesota at 6.875%. o The average state sales tax rate was 5.603% in Q2 13. County Level Rate (county designated portion of the sales tax rate): The highest county sales tax rate was Wrangell, AK at 7.0%. The next highest rates were 6.0% in the following authorities: o Petersburg, AK o Sitka, AK The third highest county rates were 5.0% in the following authorities: o Juneau, AK o Skagway, AK o Chambers, AL (In unincorporated areas outside of police jurisdictions within the county) o Tuscaloosa, AL (In unincorporated areas outside of police jurisdictions within the county) o Hinsdale, CO o San Juan, CO o Iberville Parish, LA o Orleans Parish, LA o St. Bernard Parish, LA o St. Charles, LA The average county sales tax rate was 1.242% in Q2 13. 9 Q2 VAT Highlights Country Level Rate Changes in Q Grenada introduced a new 5% rate effective 1 May Pakistan increased its standard rate from 16% to 17% effective 13 June 2013, suspended 21 June 2013, reinstated with retroactive effect 28 June 2013 as well as an additional 1% rate on unregistered buyers. Israel increased its standard rate 17% to 18% effective 2 June 2013 Slovenia increased its standard and reduced rate from 20% and 8.5% to 22% and 9.5%, respectively effective 1 July Montenegro increased its standard rate from 17% to 19% effective 1 July Croatia joined the European Union effective 1 July Provincial/State Level Rate Changes in Q electronic recycling fees in Ontario effective 1 May Manitoba increased its standard rate from 7% to 8% effective 1 July 2013.
