5 School Enrollment & Capacity JISD is recognized as the fourth largest district in Bexar County with a student enrollment of 23,340 JISD added more than 1,600 students in the last five years, an average growth rate of 1.4% per year JISD can expect a five year enrollment growth of about 1,300 students, for a fall 2019 enrollment of 24,610 The District is projected to add 2,800 students during the next 10 years with projected enrollment of 26,132 by the year 2024 There are currently 1363 students in portable classroom buildings 10 schools in the District are already at or exceed capacity Educational Improvement Plan JISD is currently executing the District Improvement Plan group activity 30 min JISD believes all students and staff need to be prepared to meet the technological challenges of the 21 st century through learning appropriate computer literacy skills to expand their ability for life-long learning Facility Needs Assessment Examples of deficiencies in the district s facilities Safety improvements at each campus Recommendations for critical replacement of items that are close to or have surpassed life expectancy Identify items that may be completed by JISD maintenance Develop cost estimates for repairs and replacement needs Additional input needed from the JISD community Financial Analysis Update at Meeting 2 introductions
