2 FOREWARD A good warm up beore a rehearsal is vital to the players getting maximum beneit (let alone even getting through it!). As band leaders we know it, but how many students do any sort o preparation beore band pratie So ideally we should start the rehearsal with a sale or two. I know, but who has time or this I ertainly empathize with this response that you may be thinking. Having been there mysel though, this valuable ew minutes an get the rehearsal o to a great start. Big Band Warm Up Sales oers the ollowing: - The sale patterns are all aompanied by harmonizations in the rhythm setion to add some olor to the sales, as well as to involve these members in the exerises. - Members have an opportunity to ous on ensemble and intonation by the larity o suh exerises. - Graded patterns to ater or varying levels o musiians. - Artiulations to help gain some style in the exerise.
