1.0 SUMMARY Work was conducted on three licences that are contiguous with Alterra Licence 16646M that hosts the Katie and other prospects. Soil sampling and lithogeochemical sampling, prospecting and mapping were conducted on the three Alterra Resources Inc licences. No anomalies were detected but studies are ongoing. 2.0 INTRODUCTION & CLAIM STATUS From September 4th to September 11th, Alterra Resources Inc, a subsidiary of Search Minerals Inc., prospected and traversed Licences 16643M, 12985M, and, 12988M in an attempt to assess the properties for their potential to host base and precious metal mineralization. Drill core from holes drilled on the property were also relogged and sampled. Claim Year No. Claims Date Issued Work date Req d Expenditures Actual expenditures No M /10/8 2011/10/8 $2, $4, M /10/8 2011/10/8 $12, $13, M /10/8 2011/10/8 $5, $6, LOCATION & ACCESS The property is located on NTS map sheet 2D/05 in Central Newfoundland off Route 360 (Figure 1). The TransCanada Highway and the town of Bishops Falls lies approximately 87 km to the north while the town of Head of Bay D'Espoir/Milltown lies 60 km to the south. A logging road runs into the centre of the property whereby foot traverses are then possible. Helicopter access to more remote places may be more time efficient, especially Licence 16643M. 4.0 PHYSIOGRAPHY, GLACIATION, and PROPERTY DESCRIPTION The property is characterized by flat to moderately undulating terrain supporting numerous bogs and ponds interspersed with patchy strands of immature to mature timber. Vegetation consists mainly of spruce and fir with pine, birch and tamarack abundant locally. Much of the east-central claims area has undergone logging operations with younger tree growth now dominating. Bedrock exposure on the property is sparse due to extensive glacial till cover which commonly has a thickness in the range of 2-5 metres. The latter has also resulted in a relatively poor, and somewhat haphazard, drainage pattern for the area, however, with a general flow direction to the north. The property is located within a large plateau region of central Newfoundland with an elevation range of 200 to 230 metres above sea level. 2

5.0 EXPLORATION HISTORY The general property area was mapped in detail by the provincial government during the late 1970 s and early 1980 s with several publications covering different parts of the Burnt Hill map area (2D/5). These studies culminated in a more comprehensive publication by Coleman- Sadd, in 1985, titled Geology of the Burnt Hill Map area, Report The North Steady Pond Formation (NSPF), a sequence of intermediate to felsic volcanic rocks, was delineated as a result of this work. Other government mapping programs were carried out over overlapping and/or surrounding areas including several by Swinden ( ) and Swinden et al., (1982). In 1934, an evaluation of the ultramafic rocks of the Coy Pond Complex was carried out by A.K. Snelgrove to assess its potential for chromite deposits. Early industry activity in the area involved further investigations for chromite (as well as for asbestos), by Bell asbestos Mines Ltd, in 1963, and again by Tasu Resources, in 1982 and 1984 (Tibbo, 1982 & 1984). During 1981 and 1982, St. Joe Canada Inc. carried out regional reconnaissance airborne geophysical and geochemical surveys and geological mapping over the area. Their work resulted in the identification of 89 AEM conductors, some occurring within the present property area. Several of these were found to have corresponding base metal (Cu, Zn, Pb) soil anomalies. During 1985 to 1989, Rio Algom carried out extensive exploration over the NSPF- Huxter s Pond volcanic belt to evaluate its potential for both base and precious metal mineralization (Robertson D.J., 1986, Bonham, O.J., 1988a, 1988b). Work consisted of soil, lake sediment and stream sediment geochemical surveys, prospecting/geology traverses, rock sampling and ground geophysics (Max Min II, EM, etc.). A 14-hole diamond drill program was also implemented with drill holes scattered throughout the NSPF. Rio Algom reported several sulphide showings consisting of pyrite and pyrrhotite, as well as several Cu-Pb-Zn soil and lake sediment anomalies and a large number of EM conductors. A few of these, in addition to some identified previously by St. Joe Canada, were drill-tested and found to consist of graphitic and/or pyrite-pyrrhotite bearing argillite units. During 1993 and 1994, BHP Minerals conducted exploration programs in the area (Bruce Pond-Katie prospect) consisting of geochemical and geophysical (including IP) surveys, trenching (13 trenches) and diamond drilling (eight short holes (LG-93-1 to 8) totalling 758 metres) (Williamson, T.C., 1993, 1994). Following the work by BHP the area of the Katie Prospect was acquired by Black Bart Prospecting Group. The latter carried out soil/till geochemical sampling and prospecting in September, 1999 and March, 2000 during which time a large number of high-grade sulphide-rich boulders were found over a 400 m section of logging road passing through the prospect area. Trenching by Alterra Resources in 2009, led to the discovery of more significant mineralization up-section. It is this new discovery (and/or extension) that now defines the Katie prospect. Assay grades for the boulders include up to 25% Zn, 3.5% Pb and 1.66% Cu accompanied by significant precious metals (up to 4.4 oz/t Ag and up to 0.11 oz/t Au). 4

Following the discovery of the mineralized boulders, an option was taken on the property, by Gallery Resources Ltd, in May, The company conducted a series of exploration programs lasting until 2003, consisting of grid preparation, soil geochemical and geophysical surveys (VLF-EM, IP and Gravity) and diamond drilling (63 holes). Alterra Resources Inc completed trenching and pit sampling on the Katie Property as well as a 4 hole diamond drill program and initiation of a new grid in The 389m, four hole drill program failed to intersect significant mineralization but did encounter a zone of sulphide-rich quartz veined, sericite-fuchsite altered felsic volcanic rock. Fifty-five rock grab samples, 56 channel samples and 18 soil samples were collected during the program, as well as sixty-three core samples. Forty kilometres of a proposed 55km grid was completed spanning the assessment years. 6.0 REGIONAL GEOLOGY The property area lies within the Exploits Subzone of the tectonostratigraphic Dunnage Zone of central Newfoundland (Fig. 2). The latter is comprised of Ordovician oceanic crustal (ophiolitic) and volcanic island-arc terranes of the ancient Iapetus Ocean basin. Closure of this basin during the Ordovician Taconic Orogeny, resulted in the juxtaposition of these terranes between Precambrian continental rocks of the Avalon and Humber Zones, located to the east and west, respectively. Later tectonic events, of the Silurian and Devonian period (Salinic and Acadian Orogenies), resulted in further tightening and deformation of the various units, with eastward thrusting, accompanied by numerous granitoid and mafic intrusions, particularly throughout the Dunnage Zone. Regional geology surrounding and/or enclosing the general property area is comprised of four main rock groupings: 1) Ordovician and older (meta)sedimentary rocks of the Gander Subzone; 2) Cambro-Ordovician ophiolitic rocks of the Pipestone Pond, Coy Pond and Great Bend Complexes; 3) Ordovician and Silurian sedimentary rocks of the Davidsville, North Steady Pond and Botwood Groups; and 4) plutonic rocks of the Silurian, post-kinematic, Mount Peyton Intrusive Suite. The ophiolitic and overlying island arc sequences of the Exploits Subzone form dismembered, thrust-bound, allochthonous slices, emplaced over composite (continental basement) crust of the Gander Subzone. Younger, Ordovician and Silurian, sedimentary rocks are interpreted to have been deposited upon continental basement as well as on the allochthonous ophiolitic sequences (Colman-Sadd et al., 1992). Regionally, the rocks have undergone lower greenschist-facies metamorphism, with amphibolite facies grade occurring locally within the contact aureole of the Mount Peyton Intrusive Suite. Based on the observations of previous exploration companies to the area, it has been surmised that the geology favours potential for volcanogenic base metal mineralization of Kuroko or Buchans-type [the world-renowned Buchans deposits produced 16.2 Mt of ore averaging 14.5% zinc, 7.6% lead, 1.3% copper, 126 g/t silver and 1.37 g/t gold during 1928 to 1984]. 5

7.0 PROPERTY GEOLOGY and MINERALIZATION Based on regional government mapping, the licences are underlain by two main rock groups: volcano-sedimentary rocks of the North Steady Pond Formation (NSPF) of the Baie D Espoir Group, and mafic rocks of the Coy Pond Complex (Fig. 3). The main mineralization in the area is known as the Katie Prospect. The prospect actually consists of four different areas, known as: the Katie Prospect (or Black Bart), the Bruce Pond Epithermal Gold Zone, the Mac Donald Zone and the Tall Tree Zone. The Katie Prospect is located approximately 0.8 km east of Bruce Pond. Mineralization at the site represents the most significant concentration of base metal sulphides, and associated gold, found on the property to date. The mineralized zone, as determined by the limit of this recent trenching, is exposed over a strike distance of roughly 30 m and a width of several metres. It consists of vein and/or pervasive replacement-style, sphalerite-pyrite-chalcopyrite-arsenopyrite mineralization hosted by strongly foliated, felsic, quartz-crystal lithic tuffs and sheared quartzeye (augen)-sericite schist equivalents. Pyrite and black sphalerite are the dominant sulphides, varying from sparse disseminations and stringers (along fractures and foliation planes) to semimassive concentrations up to 0.4 m thick. Chalcopyrite is only locally associated at 1-10%. The heavily mineralized silicic zones range from a few centimetres to one metre in thickness. Channel sampling of the zone has yielded significant assay grades for both gold and base metals, particularly zinc. The large mineralized area encompassing the Katie prospect has been referred to as the Black Bart zone (following discovery of the mineralized boulders by Black Bart Prospecting Group, in 1999). This area has been the focus of most of the drilling to date. Elevated to anomalous gold results obtained in the general prospect area include results from a drill hole located 350m south of the prospect, consisting of 208 ppb Au over 4.0m (at m) and 640 ppb Au over 1.0m (at m). The upper intersection is part of a 7.0 m wide silicified, pyritized, zone in quartz-sericite schists which includes a 1.0m wide zone having >30% fine-grained sulphide (mainly pyrite) in semi-massive form (Wilton, 2003); the lower intersection is described as a highly silicified dacite with 3-5% stringer sulphide (predominantly pyrrhotite) with pyrite and trace sphalerite (Wilton, 2003). A m wide silicified, pyritic, zone (also in quartz-sericite schists), was intersected in another drill hole nearby. A drill investigation of a bull s eye Gravity anomaly in the vicinty did not explain the gravity response but did reveal strong silica-sericite alteration and enriched base metal mineralization in the felsic volcanics. The Bruce Pond Epithermal Gold (BPE) Zone is located 1.5 km south of the Katie prospect. A total of 17 holes were drilled in this area, revealing an extensive zone of silicic-sericitic alteration and pervasive quartz vein/veinlet development that is open both along strike (to the north and south) and at depth. Here, weak gold mineralization is associated with high level (epithermal) features such as chalcedonic quartz, vugs, cockscomb and colloform textures. Again, host rocks consist of quartz-eye felsic to intermediate crystal-lithic tuffs and schistose (quartz-sericite and chlorite-sericite altered) equivalents. Fragmented quartz-rich granitic-looking rocks, with chlorite fracture fillings and silica rich sections were also reported here as well as minor argillite. 7

The MacDonald Zone (MD) is located 700 m south of the Katie prospect. Three holes drilled at this locality intersected extensive banded silicic horizons (up to 3.5 m thick) characterized by vuggy cavities and hosting abundant, cm-scale, stringer to banded, semi-massive to massive pyrite (French, 2003; File 2D/0513). Gold values of 2.52 g/t and 1.85 g/t were also reported from these zones (although no assay widths were recorded). Assay results of up to 3.0% Zn, 0.6% Pb, 0.17% Cu & 0.57 oz/t Ag were reported for core sample lengths of up to a metre (again no specific widths mentioned). An 11.0 m wide zone of silica-sericite alteration intersected in a, drill hole at m depth hosts 5-7% sulphides, including more concentrated (10-15%) combined pyrite, pyrrhotite, galena, black and brown sphalerite, and possible arsenopyrite over cm wide intervals. The Tall Tree (TT) Zone is located about 0.5 southeast of the BPE zone. A 5-hole drill program was completed to test a base metal soil anomaly. Results included a 9.0 m wide intersection of base metal mineralization (mainly sphalerite) in altered felsic volcanics (as above), having an average grade of 0.6% Zn pyrite (French, 2003; File 2D/0513). Anomalous gold, up to 0.43 g/t, were also reported for the zone (again, no assay widths mentioned). The mineralization was intersected in two holes located about 100 m apart. Several units of altered granite and leucogranite, and one occurrence of possible monzogranite, were encountered in the drill holes as well. Figure 3: Property Geology 8

Figure 4: Rock Sample Location Map EXPLORATION PROGRAM 8.1 Exploration Activities Exploration work on the properties included soil sampling and general prospecting, lithogeochemical rock sampling and relogging and sampling of drill holes. Soil samples were collected from four select areas (Figure 5). The sampling was conducted local to or covering old airborne anomalies and in some cases overlapped previous sampling. Samples were spaced roughly 100 x 100m and were sent to Eastern Analytical for analysis. Sixty samples were collected from the licences. Area A targeted an untested St. Joe airborne anomaly. Area B 9

rechecked and extended previous soil sampling done by Rio Algom in the 1980 s and was also local to an airborne anomaly. Area C targeted a series of airborne anomalies. Area D rechecked previous soil sampling in an area of intersecting airborne anomalies. Geochemical results are shown in Appendix A. Fifteen rock geochemical samples were collected from the licences and sent to ActLabs for full lithogeochemical analysis (Figure 4). Results are shown in Appendix B. Two diamond drill hole was relogged and three lithogeochemical samples were collected and sent to ActLabs for analysis (Figure 4). Results are shown in Appendix C with drill sections in Appendix D. Figure 5: Soil Sample Location Map 8.2 Exploration Results Assessment of lithogeochemical sampling is ongoing and incomplete at this time as there is a large amount of data to assess from Alterra Resources licences in the area. Soil sampling and lithogeochemical rock sampling failed to produce any anomalies. 10

9.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS The exploration program failed to find any obvious targets for follow up. However, the geology and mineralization in the area is complex and poorly understood due to poor outcrop control. Lithogeochemical studies should be continued throughout Alterra licences in the area in an effort to unravel the geology and control and nature of mineralization. No further work is recommended for Licence 16643M. A series of trenches is recommended on licences 12988M and 12985M to determine the source of various airborne anomalies REFERENCES 1.
