1 Instructions: Grocery Store Chemical Scavenger Hunt This may be turned in any time prior to Monday, March 31, Your mission is to work in teams of two (2) to collect digital images of as many of the items listed below as you can find. The more you find, the better your grade! You may use any department within your local grocery store or hardware store (Lowe s, Tractor Supply, etc.) or even at home but be as original as possible. Vitamin pills are not allowed since they defeat the purpose of the assignment. All the images of your items need to be compiled in a digital portfolio. This can be a collection of digital images in a file, a power point, a movie, etc. Be sure to save it on your flash drive and be sure it is a program my computer can read. 50% of the pictures of items must have you in them, and 50% must have your partner in them both of you may be the pictures as well. Do not photoshop; your pictures must be in an actual store (that I recognize). Your partner may be in another chemistry class. Your file name should contain your class period and your LAST names: Ex: 4_jones_roberts. You may use an item for more than one of the numbers. All items must be labeled with the number(s) that they represent. When it is time to hand in your project, your team must have each item presented in numerical order, so that the checkout process is efficient. I would strongly suggest looking over the list before you go to the stores and make a plan. You must turn this sheet back in with all of your items identified on the worksheet. Starting Wednesday (2/26/14) you will have 4 ½ weeks to do this project. You must do a minimum of 50 items at good quality and labeled correctly to get a 90 that would be about 2 pictures a day or 11 per week. Fewer pictures will result in a lower grade. Fewer than 30 pictures will result in a failing grade. More than 50 pictures will result in a higher grade up to a 99. This is for a TEST GRADE! Grading will be based on: Percentage of items found Item matches requirement Quality of images Correct labeling Worksheet labeled and turned in
