1 THS General Biology Unit 4 Exam Review Content: Photosynthesis & Cellular Respiration You should be able to complete all of the following tasks, objectives, and answer any questions, without the use of any notes or resources, in order to be successful on the quiz. Good Rule of Thumb : If you can have a conversation about it, then you know and understand it. This Exam: Is 60% of your class grade. Has 13 difficult multiple choice questions. o 4 questions on photosynthesis. o 4 questions on cellular respiration o 2 questions on the connection between photosynthesis and cellular respiration. o 3 questions on ATP and energy cycling. Has 1 difficult application, written response question. o Interrelatedness of photosynthesis and cellular respiration.

3 BIG Written Question to Plan Ahead for: (We will NOT go over these answers in class. As a student, you are advised to practice writing out your responses ahead of time, and asking your teacher for any clarification if necessary.) Background Information: Scientists were trying to study the relationship/s between plants and animals in an experiment. The scientists set up the experiment and in one specific set-up, 1 small aquatic plant and 3 aquatic snails were all placed together in an aquarium tank. The organisms were given fresh, pure distilled water, and were provided a regular source of UV sunlight (through a sunlamp). After letting the plant and snails live together for 24hours, the scientists came back to record data and observations. Surprisingly they found that the plant was still living, but 2 out of the 3 snails had died.
