VOL UME 30, ISSUE 5, pp , 5/ 25/ ( ISSN ; In Chinese) Abstract : The storage way of natural gas in low temperature and normal pressure (or low pressure) is more and more widely used in the LN G plants, city gas peak2shaving systems, and LN G receiving terminals due to its advantages like high efficiency, less land oc2 cupation, and expandable storage volume. Therefore, an investigation was made into the construction status of large low temperature L N G storage tanks, the developing trend of this technology in the world was analyzed and the technical progress in material research and development, adiabatic analysis, structure design, and operation technology of large low temperature L N G storage tanks in Chi2 na was also introduced. It is pointed out that the home2made steel 06Ni9 and it s matching technology have been successf ully devel2 oped and put into service in many large LN G projects, which is a landmark step forward in the nationalization of this technology in China.
