1 ODFW AQUATIC INVENTORY PROJECT OREGON PLAN FOR SALMON & WATERSHEDS STREAM RESTORATION HABITAT REPORT STREAM: BASIN: SURVEY TYPE: Munson Creek (NC-342) Tillamook River Post-Tx DATE: February 2, 28 SURVEY CREW: REPORT PREPARED BY: Sharon Tippery, Matt Weeber Sharon Tippery BASIN AREA: 7.4 km 2 USGS MAPS: ECOREGION: Beaver Coast Range Coastal Uplands GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Munson Creek habitat survey extended 1,744 meters. The channel was constrained by multiple terraces in a broad valley floor. The average valley width index was 11.4 (range: 1-2). Land use for the reach was timber harvest and greenway. The average unit gradient was 3.9 percent. Riffles (47%) and rapids (21%) dominated stream habitat. Cobble (29%), gravel (25%) and sand (17%) dominated stream substrate. Wood volume was 46.3m 3 /1m. COMMENTS: There were no potential barriers to upstream fish migration in the surveyed length. The crew noted several habitat structures during the survey. One inactive landslide was noted on the left bank. Beaver activity, two redds, a large steelhead, small salmonids, and a fish carcass were observed during the survey.
