TOPOGRAPHY AND LAND-USE Typically, the Kap Property is defined by broad, flat terrain. Relief is low with local variations of 10 to 20 metres. The most dominate topographic feature on the property is a northeast trending ridge of outcrop crossing the west boundary of the property and forming part of the east slope of the Opasatika River valley. The central area of the property is cut by Ecclestone Creek. The creek drains northward and has poor drainage due to damming by beaver dams. Ridges and lineaments on the property are orientated northeast and northwest. Both directions coincide with large, regional geological fault structures which cut northeast through the area or with the general trend of underlying geological rock units. Outcrop exposure across the property is poor and mostly restricted to areas of higher relief. The greatest extent of outcrops are found in the vicinity of the ridge located along the western boundary of the property. The ridge of outcrop trends northeast into the central area of the property. Eastern areas of the property are swampy and outcrops are rare. Most areas of the property have been extensively logged. The operations have left isolated stands of mature poplar and buffer zones of spruce, jack-pine, birch and poplar along most of the creeks and lakes on the property. Forested areas extend over the southwest side of the property. II. REGIONAL GEOLOGY BEDROCK GEOLOGY The Kap Property is situated within a region underlain by four Archean bedrock domains (Figure 4). The domains include: 1.) a metavolcanic suite consisting of amphibolite, schists and amphibole-pyroxeneplagioclase gneiss; 2.) a metasedimentary suite consisting of greywacke, arkose, and iron formation; 3.) a migmatite-metasedimentary-metavolcanic complex consisting of supra crustal, metavolcanic and minor metasedimentary rocks, and mafic and granite gneiss; 4.) felsic intrusive suite consisting of massive granite, foliated granite and granite pegmatite. The north and west areas of the property are underlain by east-west striking metasedimentary schists and mafic metavolacinic flows belong to the Quetico Subprovince. South and east areas of the property are underlain by hornblende-quartzfeldspar gneiss and granite bodies belonging to the Wawa Subprovince. Page -6-

The sequence has been intruded by northwest trending Archean diabase dykes and northeast trending Proterozoic diabase dykes. The property lies within the LePage Fault System. This system is part of the western margin of the Kapuskasing Structural Zone (KSZ) and consists of a series of parallel northeast trending fault structures which include the Rufus Lake Fault and Opasatika Lake Fault. Both faults cross the property and are easily identifiable on the regional government airborne magnetic survey sheets. The Rufus Lake Fault can be traced through the Cargill Carbonatite complex, located 15 km northeast of the property. Faults associated with the LePage Fault System were active through the late Proterozoic. The structures exhibit both strike-slip and vertical displacement. Aeromagnetic data suggests faulting has occurred along northwest orientated fractures. In the field, these structure are evident by a series of northwest orientated lineaments. The age of these structures is uncertain since some appear to be older and some are younger than northeast orientated faults associated with the KSZ. Throughout the Archean and into the late Proterozoic, the region has been intruded by swarms of diabase dykes. The orientations of the dykes coincide with the major fault zones. Diabase is easily recognizable on the government aeromagnetic sheets. Some of the dykes trending northwest appear to cross both the northeast orientated faults and some diabase dykes suggesting that a young dyke phase has occurred in this direction. QUATERNARY GEOLOGY Surficial deposits of glacial till cover most areas of the property. Till was deposited during several pulses of the Wisconsinan glaciation. Striae found in the region suggest three ice advances have occurred, the youngest advance was orientated 1200 and two older sets orientated 1600 and 2200 (Boissoneau, 1968). On the Kap Property, a striae was recorded at an orientation of PREVIOUS WORK Diamond exploration has not been documented in this region until the release of results obtained in 1997 of a heavy mineral survey preformed by the Ontario Geological Survey over a section of the Kapuskasing Structural Zone, south of Kapuskasing, Ontario. Sporadic diamond exploration occurred through the mid-60's at Coral Rapids, north of Kapuskasing and more recently, in the Wawa region where four kimberlite and several alluvial diamonds have now been discovered. In 1987, some areas of the Kap Property were covered by airborne magnetic and electromagnetic surveys preformed on behalf of Golden Trio Resources Limited. The surveys were followed by geological work. Page -8-

The Kap Property was bordered to the south by Canabrava Diamond Corporation but these claims have elapsed. Berland Resources also held claims in Ecclestone Township but these have elapsed. Within the region, Agrium Resources is mining apatite from the Cargill Carbonatite located in Cargill Township. The operation produces phosphate to be used as a fertilizer. In the fall of 1999 a claim was staked adjoining to the northeast corner of the Kap Property. The claim is owned by unknown parties and ties onto patented claims covering the Cargill carbonatite. III. SURVEY RESULTS AND DISCUSSION RESULTS OF DRILL PROJECT KAP-1: J GRID KAP-1 drill hole tested ground under several boulders of which host a series of diatreme dikes. The boulders are situated close to a Cr-Ni humus anomaly coincide with a strong linear magnetic feature. Kap-1 drill intersected a 1 metre wide mafic dike, possibly of pyroxenite composition but did not intersect diatreme material. KAP-2: J GRID The KAP-2 drill hole also tested the boulder anomaly. Results were similar to the initial hole. Diatreme material was not encountered. KAP-2 tested the area at right-angle to the KAP-1 drill hole. The orientation of the diatreme dikes in the boulders are at right-angle to the direction of gneissosity of the wallrock. KAP-3a and KAP-3b: J GRID KAP-3a and KAP-3b drill holes tested a series of linear magnetic anomalies situated up-ice (with respect to glaciation) from a sequence of stream sediment heavy mineral samples found to contain hundreds of fresh bright green chrome diopside and lesser amounts of chromite, picroilmenite and orange and pink garnet. As a result of unstable bedrock, KAP-3a was abandoned at 22.6 metres. Page -9-

KAP-3b intersected three lamprophyre dikes ranging 0.18 m, 0.7 m and 0.3 m in width. The dikes are strongly porphyritic with pellet to euhedral shaped crystals of bright green clinopyroxene up to 2 cm wide and much lesser light blue amphibole and traces of small pellets of black mica in a very fine grained dark grey matrix of black mica and serpentine. Initial microprobe analyses of a thin-section made from one of the dikes (appendix; sample KAP-3B) indicates the matrix to be biotite-phlogopite mica H- serpentine calcite opaques (titano-magnetite). Phenocrysts are composed of zoned diopside, having iron-rich rims and chrome-rich cores with up to 1.20Xo Cr2O3, and chrome-bearing alkali amphibole with composition tending towards riebeckite. KAP-4: A GRID KAP-4 drill hole tested a potential kimberlite target defined by a Cr-Ni-Mg-Pd-Rb mobile metal ionization (M.M.I.) anomaly coincident with a strong lense-shaped magnetic feature situated up-ice from a series of stream sediment heavy mineral samples and esker samples found to contain chromite, picroilmenite, clinopyroxene and Mg-Ca almandine garnet. KAP-4 drill hole intersected sheared metasedimentary schists, mafic metavolcanic basaltic units and a strongly magnetic peridotite body. The peridotite is very-fine grained and weakly mineralized by disseminated magnetite. Pyrite occurs in trace amounts in thin serpentined fractures. The peridotite unit is approximately 54 metres wide and is believed to be the cause of the strong magnetic response detected over the area. The peridotite is potentially a platinum-palladium target and has been sampled accordingly. KAP-4 intersected a sheared metasedimentary unit situated above the peridotite unit. A 3.5 metre section hosts several fine pyrite- sugary quartz stringers. The interval has been sampled as potential gold-base metal mineralization. KAP-5: A GRID KAP-5 drill hole tested a potential kimberlite target defined by a Cr-Ni-Mg-Rb mobile metal ionization (M.M.I.) anomaly coincident with a circular magnetic feature situated in the vicinity to an esker found to contain chromite, clinopyroxene and Mg-Ca almandine garnet. Page-10-

KAP-5 intersected sheared and gneissic metasediments, diabase and two thin mafic dikes which are believed to be sheared equivalents of peridotite and diabase. The diabase is the probable cause of the magnetic response. KAP-6: E GRID KAP-6 tested several subtle northwest trending linear magnetic features situated in the vicinity to a group of stream sediment heavy mineral samples containing traces of the kimberlite indicator minerals: chromite, picroilmenite, chrome diopside and G9 pyrope. KAP-6 intersected a variety dikes consisting of diabase, two lamprophyre dikes, a mafic dike and a small diatreme dike. The lamprophyre dikes are between 0.45 to 0.65 metres wide, black in colour, and have a very fine grained-aphanitic matrix. Phenocrysts 0.5 cm wide are subtle, mostly dark in colour and some what indistinguishable from the groundmass. The phenocrysts are composed of the blue amphibole, pyroxene, black mica and possible olivine. Chrome diopside is present in rare amounts. The small diatreme dike encountered in the hole is ^ cm wide. The dike has a very fine grained-aphanitic matrix which is grey in colour. The matrix contains several angular clastes of wallrock and syenite up to 5 cm wide. The dike is similar to the diatreme dike found in outcrop on line 0+50W, 12+75N and to the diatreme dikes found on the J GRID. KAP-7: GRID J KAP-7 drill hole tested linear magnetic features 200 metres to the north and on strike from the magnetic features believed to represent the lamprophyre dikes intersected in KAP-3b. KAP-7 intersected six lamprophyre dikes similar in composition to the chrome diopside lamprophyre dikes in KAP-3b. The dikes range between 0.01 metres to 1.6 metres wide, the largest of which contains pellets and euhedral grains of bright green clinopyroxene 2 cm in size. Page-11-

DISCUSSION OF RESULTS DIAMONDS The chrome diopside bearing lamprophyre dikes are believed to be the source of abundant chrome diopside found in Gosselin Creek and the tributary cutting across the south part of GRID J. Additional analyses of the dikes are needed to determine if the dikes are the source of chromite, picroilmenite and garnets also found with the chrome diopside in the heavy mineral samples. Microprobe analyses of clinopyroxene megacrysts from the dikes indicate diopside core compositions with sufficient chrome (H 0Xo Cr2O3 ) to be classified as 'chrome diopside'. The composition differs from kimberlitic chrome diopside (type 1) due to low sodium (NaO) content (Type 2). Chrome diopside from the lamprophyre dike tested has a chrome: sodium ratio of approximately 2:1. Microprobe analyses suggests the lamprophyre dikes represent primitive deepseated magma the composition of which has an overlap with some favorable characteristics of magma associated with diamond. On the basis of this, lamprophyre dikes in holes: KAP-3b, KAP-7 and KAP-6 have been sampled for digestive analyses for diamond. The low sodium composition of the chrome diopside correspond to Type-2 chrome diopside found elsewhere on the property. The minerals were first detected in the region during the 1998 heavy mineral survey conducted by the Ontario Geological Survey (Morris, Crabtree and Averil, 1998). Heavy mineral sampling on the property has defined four additional areas where significant quantities (+50 grains per sample) of Type-2 chrome diopside occur. The areas include: GRID E, GRID l, GRID C and GRID D. The areas are situated mostly on the east side of the property in the vicinity to the Opasatika Lake Fault. Diatreme dikes (as found on GRID J) also follow this trend and occur in outcrop on GRID E and GRID l. Kimberlite indicator minerals have been found in the vicinity to all the Type-2 chrome diopside anomalies. The minerals include: chromite, picroilmenite and G9 pyrope garnet. Some Type-2 chrome diopside found on GRID D has a slight increase in sodium and is more akin to kimberlitic diopside. Page-12-

PLATINUM-PALLADIUM The peridotite body intersected in KAP-4 could be a potential platinum group source as suggested by the M.M.I, survey. The intrusion is situated in the vicinity to the Wawa Subprovince and Quetico Subprovince boundary. The development of the boundary and younger Quetico metasedimentary formations is thought to have influenced PGM-bearing intrusions such as Lac Des Isle to occur along the trend of the boundary. On this basis, the peridotite body in KAP-4 has been sampled accordingly. Results are expected soon. IV. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS The discovery of lamprophyre and diatreme dikes are very encouraging and demonstrate potential diamond-bearing rocks exist on the property. The dikes reveal the presence of deep penetrating tensional fractures which have been subjected to multiple phases of primitive magma. It is hoped as suggested by the presences of kimberlite minerals in creeks and tills on the property, that a phase of kimberlite magma has also occurred. Favorable results gathered by this program generate the need for additional exploration. A persistent surface exploration program is recommended to locate additional potential diamond-bearing dikes. The exploration program should focus on the east and south regions of the property, covering areas proximal to the major faults trending northeast through the area. A combination program consisting of surface geological prospecting and ground geophysics is required to guide additional diamond drilling on the property. Prospecting in areas of outcrop has demonstrated the potential for dikes to be found. Continuing ground magnetometer and VLF surveys is also strongly recommended and should be supported by additional heavy mineral sampling of creeks and tills. Page-13-
