We are also organizing an exciting social program, including a closing dinner and visits to interestingsitesclosetobarcelona.moreover,wewillofferdiverseexcursionthatwilltakeplace attheendofthemeeting. VISITTOFUMANYAANDPINYESSITES Thursday July 21, we are going to enjoy a fieldtrip to the most important dinosaur paleontologicalsitesinthenorthoftheiberianpeninsula,fumanyaandpinyes. Fumanya tracksite (Vallcebre, Berguedà region, Barcelona Province) has delivered thousands of footprints and dozens of track ways of sauropods, becoming one of the most important tracksites of dinosaurs in the world. Located in the lower part of thetrempfm.(earlymaastrichtian),fumanyatracksiteisalsoone of the youngest sites with dinosaur footprints worldwide. Inaprivilegedlocation,nearthesiteofFumanyawewillenjoylunchintherestaurantofthe JouHotel,whereyoucantastetypicalfoodsfromtheregion. AfterlunchwewillmovewestoftheFumanyatracksite, near to the locality of Coll de Nargó (Alt Urgell region, Lleida Province). Taking the old road to the abandoned village of Sallent, we will arrive at the Pinyes eggsite, where we will see oneofthemostincrediblesiteswithdinosaureggsintheworld. To date, several types of dinosaur fossil eggs have been described at this site, each one located in different parts of stratigraphicalsectionandattributedtodinosaursandcrocodiles.pinyessiteisalsoknownforthe largestnesteverreportedineurope,withupto25eggs,which allowed to infer some nesting patterns for these larges dinosaurs. Furthermore, different types of plant remains (palms, ferns, and charophites) and dinosaur footprints have beenfoundatthispaleontologicalsite. Youcanfindmoreinformationregardingthesymposiumat:
