1 2 페이지뉴스레터제목 INVITATION & AIMS The Fifth International Symposium of International Geoscience Programme IGCP Project 608 We cordially invite you to participate in the 5th International Symposium of IGCP608, which will be held from October 22 28, 2017, in International Convention Center (ICC), Jeju Island, Korea. The mechanisms underlying the evolution of the Asia-Pacific Cretaceous ecosystems are far from being fully understood. The IGCP608 project is aimed to reconstruct the Cretaceous ecosystems and the history of their responses to paleoenvironmental changes in Asia and the Western Pacific. The Symposium will serve as a platform for participants to share their views on the paleoenvironmental changes impacts both on terrestrial and marine ecosystems. The scientific programme will cover a wide range of topics including paleoclimate, paleogeography, paleontology, stratigraphy, tectonics, and petroleum geology. The symposium is jointly held with the Memorial Symposium of 70th Anniversary of the Geological Society of Korea. Cretaceous Ecosystems and Their Responses to Paleoenvironmental Changes in Asia and the Western Pacific October 22 28, 2017, Jeju Island, Korea The 5th International Symposium of the IGCP608 in Korea will provide an opportunity for discussion of the latest advances in studies of Asia-Pacific Cretaceous ecosystems. In addition to scientific sessions, the pre-symposium field excursion will be organized in the western and southern coasts to examine the nonmarine Cretaceous Gyukpo Basin and Gyeongsang Basin yielding many dinosaur footprints and other fossils. Moving to Jeju Island - Participants of the field trip should check in Ramada Songdo Hotel, Incheon by the evening of 22nd of October. Please refer to the attached map and transportation guide. Symposium Schedule - Thursday, October 26, 2017 Opening Ceremony, Scientific sessions, Welcome dinner. - Friday, October 27, 2017 One day Jeju Island Tour for all participants, Business meeting. Farewell Party - Participants of the symposium only should check in a hotel, Jeju (you reserved by yourself) by the evening of 25 rd of October. Please refer to the attached map and transportation guide. - Monday, October 23, 2017 leaving Incheon for field trip to Cretaceous Gyukpo Basin in the western coast of Korean Peninsula. Stay in Mokpo. - Tuesday, October 24, 2017 visiting Cretaceous dinosaur footprints and dinosaur museum in Haenam and field excursion near Goseong coastal outcrops of Cretaceous Gyeongsang Basin in the southern coast. Stay in Busan. - Wednesday, October 25, 2017 visiting the Cretaceous volcaniclastic outcrops near Songdo, Busan, moving to Gimhae Airport in Busan, and leaving for Jeju Island Registration Fees - Pre-symposium field excursion (including excursion guidebook, accommodation, meals, refreshments, transportation during the excursion, and air fare to Jeju Island from Busan after field excursion): US$ 400 for all participants
