3 Report on the Reconnaissance, Magnetometer Survey an the Bill and Cat Mineral Claims. Olivine buntoin, Tulameen, B. C. A Reconnaissance Magnetometer Survey has been completed on part of the Bill and Cat Groups of mineral claims on Olivine buntoin to verify the existance of magnetic anomalies previously indicated by dip needle prospecting. Compasses fluctuate widely in the area and the dip needle consistantly register dips from 15 to 70 degrees. Location and Access, etc. The property is located on the north end of Olivine Mountain. Elevations vary from 4500 to 5000 feet above sea level. t can be reached from Tulameen by a good gravel road up the Tulameen River a distance of eight miles. From this point a truck road has been constructed, which switchbacks up to the top of Olivine buntain and affords access to the area surveyed. The topography is rolling to steep with heavy forest cover. The area is generally over burden covered but road cuts indicate that in most areas bed rock can be reached within twenty- feet of the surface. Plans #1 and #2 show the location of the company properties and the anomalous areas found by dip needle survey. During the course of the work the claim posts on the Bill claims were located but a dilligent search failed to find the posts of the Cat Group of claims. Geoloaical Environment. The area investigaged by the Magnetometer Survey is almost entirely underlain by ultrabasic

4 - 2 - rocks being part of the Olivine Mountain stock. A few out crops of intermixed Nicola volcanics and sediments were found in the road cuh on the extreme east of the area. The ultra basic rockson the Bill and Cat claims consist essentially of pyroxenite and peridotite, consisting of coarse crystals of pyroxene with minor amounts of Olivine, Serpentine and Magnetite. The rock i s bluish-grey in colour in fresh surfaces and weathers o reddish brown. Probably all gradation between the two rock types occur.due to segregation on the z cooling of the magma. Examination of land specimans shows the presence of both magnetite and chromite the latter comprising up to ten per cent of the rock in the samples examined. Previous work in the area has demonstrated that the platinum found in association with the ultrabasics is related with the chromite and magnetite. Magnetometer Survey. A grid pattern at approximately 500 foot intervals was laid out on the Bill #7, 8, 9 and 10 and the Sick Cat and Hep Cat mineral claims. 16,000 feet of line was cut, chained and picketed. A Sharps Magnetometer Model MF2 was used for the survey. 150 badings were taken at 200 foot intervals with some fill in readings at 100 foot intervals. Re-checks were made at various locations and little variation was experienced. n general 0s would be expected on ultrabasic rock masses the readings were high averaging 14,000 gammas. Variations from o low of 2200 to a high of 26,600 exist. The most interesting onomoulousrorea exists on the O@on 400 N. line west where extremely low readings were obtained on the 400 N. line and very high readings for a distance of 400 feet on the 400 N. 5 - 3 - readings in the 20,000 gamma range and the magentite content. showed a uniform soluable iron content of about fifteen per cent. Readings in this range The same should hold true for your property. The Magnetometer Survey completed to date being of a reconnaissance nature was designed to varify the presence of interesting magnetic variations as indicated by dip needle surveys. This has been done ond now more detailed work is required to outline and contour the significate areas. Conclusions and Recommendations. The preliminary survey has indicated a number of areas that are interesting magnetically. The best area is located on Bill #8 mineral claim in the vicinity of the Oita line west. Three additional lines should be cut and run in this area midway between 500 S and OM. The second midway between 0% and 400 N. The third at 600 N., all to the west of the base line. Line OW should be extended a further 500 feet on each end to ascertain the drop off in volues over the Nicola rock series to the east and also to determine the western contact. Stations should be established and reodings taken on line 2000 feet south at 100 foot intervals to the east of the base line to determine the width of high magnetic intensity around the 22,360 gamma reading obtained. f the additional work recommended in the northwest corner of the surveyed area indicates continuity further detailed work should be done in the vicinity of other high readings.
