3 On parameterization of meso-scale fluxes and its correlationship with turbulent fluxes (Natural Science Foundation of China) Research on mechanism of Turbulence energy cascade and its simulation by Lattice-gas Boltzmann Model (Natural Science Foundation of China) Research on the surface flux and boundary layer structure under non-homogeneous conditions (Natural Science Foundation of China) Research on countermeasure of air pollution in Lanzhou,Gansu Province, China (Government of Gansu Province & Chinese academy of Science) Research on prediction of air pollution in Lanzhou,Gansu Province, China, and air pollution information system (Chinese academy of Science) Chief researcher & manager Ideal numerical experiments with RAMS model. Analysis of supersonic anemometer data Spectrum analysis Data analyses; CFD(Fluent) modeling Design scheme of numerical simulations; Meso-scale numerical simulations; Field investigation and field experiment (mainly one point observation using tethered balloon); Data analyses Numerical experiments; Air pollution simulation ABL numerical simulation; Air pollution simulation Ph.D. dissertation: Atmospheric boundary layer under heterogeneous land surface and its impact on meso-scale heat fluxes. Discipline: Atmospheric physics & atmospheric environment. Direction: Atmospheric boundary layer physics and atmospheric turbulence. Supervisor: Prof. Hu Fei. Using the Regional Atmospheric Modeling System (RAMS, developed by Colorado State University, USA), I mainly simulated atmospheric boundary layer under heterogeneous land surface condition. Upon the simulating results, I analyzed the impacts of heterogeneous scale and background wind on surface fluxes and meso-scale heat fluxes, and the spectrum characteristics of surface fluxes and meso-scale fluctuation and heat fluxes. M.Sc. dissertation: Numerical simulation of the air pollutant (SO 2 ) dispersion over Lanzhou (city with complex terrain) in winter. Discipline: Meteorology. Supervisor: Prof. Peng Xindong and Prof. Chen Yuchun. Concentration of air pollutant (SO 2 ) during a winter pollution event in Lanzhou was - 3 -
4 simulated with RAMS & HYPACT (the Hybrid Particle and Concentration Transport) model. Then the contribution of industrial or residential sources to atmospheric SO 2 concentration was investigated. ORGANIZATION/SOCIAL EXPERIENCES May present, volunteer in Nevada Humane Society. Jan Jul. 2007, organized group seminar every two weeks. Jun. 2005, gave a lesson of "Atmospheric Boundary Layer", once instead of my former supervisor. July. 2003, took part in organization of an Atmospheric Science Seminar for Atmospheric Scientists from Taiwan and Mainland.
