3 A Brief Note on Presentation The data in this report is divided into two sections; facility and equipment and community. The facility and equipment data was collected from a survey (see Appendix 1) sent to all food pantries in Alaska late in 2005, while the community data was gathered from online sources and state employees. There is some comparison between the two data sets in Section 2 to make analysis easier. Note: For purposes of geographic grouping of food programs and communities in Alaska, the state has been divided into the 12 Alaska Native Corporation regions and each community or program placed in one of them accordingly. Placement in these regions does not denote a formal relationship between the community or food program and the Alaska Native Corporation. 3
