Confirmation of Minutes from Previous Meeting 3.1 Economic Development Meeting - March 11, Presentations RECOMMENDATION: THAT the minutes of the March 11, 2014 meeting of the Economic Development Committee be confirmed. 4.1 Don Anderson - Re: Sarnia Lambton Business Development Corporation Relationship to Lambton Shores Economic Development Action Plan Correspondence RECOMMENDATION: THAT the presentation by Don Anderson from the Sarnia Lambton Business Development Corporation be received. There was no correspondence received prior to the preparation of the agenda. 6. Business Arising from the Minutes 6.1 Wayfinding Signage Update Council Resolution THAT Council directs the Lambton Shores Economic Development Committee to return with recommendations within 6 months of parameters and priorties for signage of Lambton Shores. 1
2 For reference: recommend Committee review Wayfinding Strategy Report at EDC Resolution THAT an item be included on the March 25th Agenda to further discuss the role of the Committee with respect to making recommendations to Council. 6.3 EDC Resolution THAT an item be included on the March 25th Agenda to further discuss the need to roll-out the EDAP to local service clubs and community organizations. 6.4 G. CALL TO ORDER P. Wilson called the meeting to order at 9: DISCLOSURES OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST There were no conflicts of interest disclosed. 3. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING Regular Economic Development Meeting - February 25, 2014 EDC Moved by: M. Keunecke-Smith Seconded by: G. Greening THAT the December 11, 2013 meeting minutes for the Economic Development Committee be confirmed as amended. The amendments include the inclusion of Breuer after Tino in the Regrets area, and correction to acknowledge J. Speake as seconder for the motion to adjourn. Carried 3

CORRESPONDENCE There was no correspondence. 6.1 Presentation (Advanced on the agenda) George Mallay, General Manager of Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership provided an overview of County-wide initiatives for Committee awareness. Mr. Mallay was thanked by the Chair for his attendance at the meeting. (Presentation slides appended to minutes.) Mr. Mallay shared news that he has assigned Mr. Geoff Greening of the Sarnia Lambton Economic Partnerships as Lambton Shores first point of contact for economic development. Mr. Greening will work with the municipality to advance economic development initiatives and engage other staff and partners as required. This will provide a streamlined process and access to resources that benefit Lambton Shores. 5. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES 5.1 Wayfinding Signage discussion deferred to next meeting. 5.2 EDC Moved by: J. Speake Seconded by: M. Keunecke-Smith THAT an item be included on the March 25 th agenda to further discuss the role of Committee with respect to making recommendations to Council. Carried 6. REGULAR BUSINESS 6.1 Guest speaker advanced on agenda 6.2 T. Breuer provided an overview of the subcommittee meeting held on March 5 th. There were 6 public participants. Key findings included the identified need for better education of the public with respect to farm activity and key farm issues. Next steps include development of actions that support the priorities. EDC Moved by: E. Davis-Dagg Seconded by: T. Breuer THAT an item be included on the March 25 th agenda to discuss the need to rollout the EDAP to local service clubs and community organizations. Carried 4
5 6.3 G. Greening shared a draft template for tracking activities and assignments associated with the EDAP. Following group discussion, it was agreed that the template will be modified to include a way to track measurable or key performance indicators and returned for committee review. 6.
