1 Turfgrass Pathlgy Research Reprt: Annual bluegrass culture update, Fungicide cntrl f snw mld, dllarspt, anthracnse, melting ut, and Fusarium blight; Nitrgen Fertility disease interactins. J. M. Vargas Jr. and R. Detweiler Department f Btany & Plant Pathlgy, M.S.U. Establishment: Snw Mld Fungicide - Fertility Trials The snw mld fungicide - fertility trials were cnducted at the Byne Highlands Resrt n Penncrss creeping bentgrass mwed at 1/ inch. Treatments were applied t 6' x 9' plts in three repetitins f a randm blck design n Nvember 8, 198. The wettable pwder and flwables were applied with a small-plt C0 sprayer at a vlume f gal/acre. The granular fungicide and fertilizer applicatins were made with a 3 ft Sctts drp-type spreader. The plt ratings were taken n April 16, 199. Results: The data in Table 1 are fr all snw mlds. There were snw mlds present in the plts caused by three different species. Typhula blight (gray snw mld) was caused by tw different species, Typhula incarnata and Typhula ishikariensis. The Fusarium patch pink snw mld was caused by Fusarium nivale. The ttal percent area infected with snw mld fr each treatment and the check is given in Table 1 withut regard t species invlved. The percent area infected with snw mld attributable t each is factred ut in Tables & 3 & 4. Fungicides which gave significant cntrl f all snw mlds cmpared t the untreated checks in Table 1 were: Acti-dine RZ 8 z; Terraclr 8 z; Tersan 1991 and Dacnil 8 (0) z; Pr Turf F + F II x; Cal Gran 6 Ibs; Chip c 19 + Dacnil b (0) z, z, + z, Dacnil 8 (SOU) 16, 1, 8 z; Dacnil 8 WP.6, 8,. z; Cal Clr 3 z, Pr Turf Brad Spectrum Fungicide x, Ix; z, z; BFN U; z; Caddy + Brmsan + 6 z; Bayletn ( WP) 0, 1 z; BFN 89 0 z; BFN z; 9 z; CGA gm ai. Tables, 3, and 4 reflect fungicide efficacy f each prduct n the individual snw mld fungi. It can be seen that Dacnil 8 and Bayletn we~e very effective against the tw species f Typhula, and mst f the snw mld in these treatments was due t Fusarium nivale. Whereas, mst f the snw mld in the BFN 89 and Tersan 1991 treatments was due t Typhula and the treatments were relatively free f Fusarium patch. 1
