10 Shielding Calculation [IAEA] Computed tomography (CT) scanners will generate scatter and leakage radiation to the environs of the room. For every 10 mm of x-ray beam width, the intensity of this secondary radiation at 1 m is a fraction, k, of the peripheral CTDI100. Head scans: k = cm -1 Body scans: k = cm- 1 K ( mgy) = k 1 CT head 1 CT body DLP body head K ( mgy) = 1.2 k DLP body Page 10
