3 Introduction Each year, many women find themselves in the midst of a struggle with an unplanned pregnancy with no idea in which direction to turn. Catholic Charities, Inc. seeks to help women in need understand our care and commitment to them and their unborn child. Because we believe all life is sacred and created in the image of God, we always look for life alternatives. From conception to natural death, we believe every life should be protected. Therefore, we are committed to help you in your time of need. Abortion is not just a simple medical procedure. For many women, it is a life changing event with significant physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences. Most women who struggle with past abortions say they wish they had been told all the facts about abortion. Abortion will not solve any relationship problems you now have nor will it hold together an unstable relationship. It is very common for relationships to break up shortly after an abortion. Abortion is a form of racism against poor and ethnic women. Planned Parenthood identifies its core clients as young, lowincome women of color. Black and Hispanic women represent only a quarter of American women of child bearing age, yet account for more than half of all abortions in the US. In 2007, the Dept of Health reported more than 75% of abortions were performed on women categorized as non-white. Legalized abortions don t help poor women; after their abortion they are still poor. Listen to your heart and seek help from people who care about you and your baby. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:
