KOKORELIS Deprtmento de Físic Teóric C-XI nd Instituto de Físic Teóric C-XVI Universidd Autónom de Mdrid, Cntoblnco, 28049, Mdrid, Spin E-mil: C.Kokorelis@um.es I discuss two types of non-supersymmetric string model constructions tht give t low energy exctly the Stndrd model (SM) with no dditionl mtter/nd or guge group fctors. The construction is bsed on D6 brnes intersecting t ngles in compctifiction of type IIA theory on decomposble orientifolded T 6 torus. The first type is bsed on five nd six stck SM-like constructions t the string scle while, the other construction is bsed on four stck GUT left-right symmetric structure centered round the Pti-Slm SU(4) C SU(2) L SU(2) R guge group. All clsses of models exbibit importnt phenomenologicl properties including stble proton nd sizes of neutrino msses in consistency with neutrino oscilltion experiments. The models re non-susy, but mzingly, they llow the existence of supersymmetric prticles! 1. Introduction One of most difficult tsks tht string theory hs to phse tody is the construction of its vcu with exctly the observble SM guge group nd interctions t low energies of order M z. The ltter hd become possible only recently, s vcu with exctly the SM t low energy hve been constructed either from D6 brnes intersecting over 1,2 n orientifolded T 6 torus 3,4,5,6,7 or from intersecting D5 brnes on n orientifold of T 2 T 4 /Z N 8,9. In this tlk, we will focused on the four stck GUT constructions of 4 s well the the five nd six stck SM constructions of 6,7. 2. Five Stck SM s The models strt with five stcks of D6 brnes mking U(3) U(2) U(1) c U(1) d U(1) e group structure t the string scle b The models In the bsence of dynmicl mechnism tht cn select prticulr string vcuum. b Effectively n SU(3) SU(2) U(1) U(1) b U(1) c U(1) d U(1) e, s ech U(N i ) will give rise to n SU(N i ) chrged under the ssocited U(1 i ) guge group fctor tht 1
2 2 re constructed s deformtion of the four stck models of 3 round the QCD intersection numbers I b = 2, I b = 1, I c = 3, I c = 3. The SM spectrum is loclized in the intersections s in tble (1). The solution to Tble 1. Low energy fermionic spectrum of the five stck string scle SU(3) C SU(2) L U(1) U(1) b U(1) c U(1) d U(1) e, type I D6-brne model together with its U(1) chrges. (6) The ltter U(1) my be broken by demnding tht the open string sector c respects N = 1 SUSY, giving us constrint on the tdpole prmeter n 2 e = 0 s well llowing the presence of sν R. Also the presence of (6) gives the constrint n 2 = ( 28/9)n 2 d. In similr wy we cn tret the construction of higher order deformtion, with only SM t low energy of order M Z, involving the six-stck 7 structure of tble (2) s well the Pti- Slm GUTS 4 of tble (3). 3 N i (n 1 i, m1 i ) (n2 i, m2 i ) (n3 i, m3 i ) N = 3 (1/β 1,0) (n 2, ǫβ2 ) (3, ǫ/2) N b = 2 (n 1 b, ǫβ1 ) (1/β 2, 0) ( ǫ,1/2) N c = 1 (n 1 c, ǫβ 1 ) (1/β 2, 0) (0, 1) N d = 1 (1/β 1,0) (n 2 d,2ǫβ2 ) (1, ǫ/2) N e = 1 (1/β 1,0) (n 2 e, ǫβ2 ) (1, ǫ/2) Tble 1.. Tdpole solutions of D6-brnes wrpping numbers giving rise to the stndrd model guge group nd spectrum t low energies. The solutions depend on five integer prmeters, n 2, n 2 d, n2 e, n 1 b, n1 c, the NSbckground β i nd the phse prmeters ǫ = ±1, ǫ = ±1. Acknowledgments I m grteful to the orgnizers of SP2002 for providing me with finncil support.
