3 About Ranchi Ranchi is the capital of Jharkhand located in the southern part of Chota Nagpur plateau, which is eastern section of the Deccan plateau. Ranchi is the "City of Waterfalls". Dassam Fall, Hundru Fall, Jonha Fall, Hirni Fall and Panchghagh Fall are known for natural beauty. Ranchi has a hilly topography and dense tropical forests, a combination that produces a relatively moderate climate compared to the rest of the state. Ranchi has more than fifteen higher educational and research institutions. Brambe, Ranchi The Central University of Jharkhand is a non-affiliating university, popularly known as CUJ, was established by an act of Parliament of India in 2009 with a vision to uplift the socio-economic conditions and to impart the quality education to the peoples of Jharkhand. The objectives of the University are to (i) disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in various disciplines, (ii) promote innovations in teaching-learning process and inter-disciplinary studies and research, (iii) establish linkages with industries for the promotion of science and technology and (iv) educate and train manpower for the development of the country. The university is currently running 23 departments/centers in different 09 schools which are committed for excellence by executing cutting-edge research in frontier areas. In very short span of time from its existence, the university was spotted on global educational institutions map by offering wide spectrum of disciplines which are pure/interdisciplinary in nature. The university is currently running in a temporary campus located at Brambe on Ratu Lohardaga Road, which is approximately 25 km away from Ranchi city. About Centre for Applied Physics The centre for Applied Physics was started in July 2010 under the School of Natural Sciences which offers M. Sc. in Physics and Ph.D. in various branches of the Physics. The centre started functioning with the following goals to provide programmes of study in applied physics with a strong engineering emphasis relevant to needs of the local as well as regional/national research institutes and industries. The centre has highly active and vibrant faculty members. The research interests of the faculty members cover broad range of physics, namely, nuclear physics, high energy physics, condensed matter physics, applied optics and photonics. Scope The International Conference on Nuclear, Particle and Accelerator Physics (ICNPAP-2018) will bring together international experts working on experimental and theoretical aspects of nuclear, particle and accelerator physics and its related topics. This conference will provide a scientific forum to the nuclear, particle and accelerator physics community to present their research work and to interact with peers. This conference will cover various topics in nuclear, particle and accelerator physics which are not limited to: nuclear reactions, super-heavy elements, production and utilization of radioactive ion 3
4 beams, nuclear structure, exotic nuclei, nuclear astrophysics, hadron physics, high energy particle physics, particle accelerators, instrumentation for nuclear physics, interdisciplinary applications on nuclear physics, Collective Modes in Nuclei, Forefront Topics in Nuclear Theory, New Instrumentation and Techniques in Nuclear Spectroscopy, New Facilities for Nuclear and particle Physics Research, Heavy nuclei production mechanism and properties, Nuclear Isomerism, Low Energy Physics and Non perturbative QCD, Challenges in Perturbative QCD, Heavy Quarks, QCD in extreme conditions of temperature and density, Holographic methods for strong interactions, Nuclear Materials. SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM Conference will consist of key note address, invited talks, oral and poster presentations along with discussions. Invited lectures, selected seminar contributions and posters will cover new developments in the study of nuclear phenomena: from low lying shell model states to collective excitations at extreme spins and temperatures, from light to superheavy nuclei, from exotic proton drip-line nuclei to very neutron rich nuclear systems. Latest ideas and advances in nuclear theory will be the topic of a comprehensive session. New experimental methods and apparatus developed and used at stable and radioactive ion beam facilities will be presented. We will discuss the impact of the nuclear structure research on interdisciplinary studies and applications. The scientific program of the Conference will be composed of topical sessions led by conveners. Additional time will be given for reports about latest achievements in the broad field of the nuclear research. Contributions for seminars and posters will be chosen among submitted abstracts by a selection panel composed of the conveners. During the Conference we propose an extensive program of social or cultural events, which will let the participants to discover the beauty of the surrounding region and the local culture, meanwhile giving time for informal discussions and for leisure.
