1 K I N G S T O N A N D D I S T R I C T C L U B I N C. M A R C H P O N Y N E W S L E T T E R Doesn t the new arena look very professional? All the kids really enjoyed using it. Thanks to the set up crew who, with a bit of fiddling and fumbling, managed to assemble it quite efficiently. For the March rally, we will be running a normal rally day as well as the Allan Mitchell show jumping clinic. For those who have chosen not to participate in the jumping clinic, the rally will run as normal. For those that are, you will come and go from your normal lessons when needed. Someone will also come and get participants when Allan is ready for you. Read the timetables carefully as you will need to be ready (appropriate saddlery) when called. There will be no gear check for the clinic, but there will be for the rally. All families have been allocated jobs (see page 2). Let Nat know if you cannot fulfill your role, or if we have forgotten to allocate you a role. We will be running a full canteen on the day including egg and bacon sandwiches in the morning, sausages in bread for lunch, dim sims, sandwiches, slices, cakes, icy poles, chips, drinks, tea and coffee. Also The canteen shifts are 4 hours, so it would be great if anyone had some spare time, to check in at any time and see if they need help or a break.

4 C O M M I T T E E N E W S Another round of grants are coming up and we need to think what it would be best spent on. Doors for the shed? X-Country jumps? Equipment? The Kingston Ag. Society have agreed to let us clear out the Pony Club shed. The old equipment will be auctioned to club members and will include jump wings and other similar equipment. These are not in the best condition and are considered unsafe to use in their present state, but may need only a small amount of fixing to be useful. We will auction these off at the April or May rally. The money raised will go towards the club, possible to fund a new games trailer to make life easier. Please take home your own rubbish, as if we leave any, the Ag. Society will charge us $15 for removal. G L E N L Y O N H O R S E T R I A L S Well done to team Kingston for a fantastic turn out at the Glenlyon Horse Trials. And to the parents for the effort and co-ordination involved. There were quite a few new riders/horses/combos and it was good to see them do did a really great job and come away with more confidence and enthusiasm. From memory, congratulations are to go to Elisabeth for a first place in the dressage (with an amazing score), and to Lucy for an equal 1st in dressage and 3rd overall. There were a few memory issues (ties, jump order, dressage tests) and knowing that you had to vet check, but the riders and ponies should be proud of their performances. Good luck to Sarah at Gisborne HT and the Fords at Ballarat CT this weekend.
