Chapter 15 & 16: Financial Statements and notes (sole trader). Statement of Comprehensive Income, Statement of Financial Position and all the notes to the financial statements. Adjustments must be shown on the face of the financial statement if the note was not asked. A very substantial part of the examined work. Chapter 17: Analysis & Interpretation of financial statements and financial indicators. This will be a separate question and you must be able to calculate / test for profitability, liquidity, solvability and returns (yield). You must also be able to comment on your findings. Paper 2: Chapter 9: Additional cash transactions (Must know in which journal to record these transactions, which source document used and NB must be able to show the effect on the accounting equation! I usually ask the additional transactions as which account to debit, which account to credit, which source document and show effect of transaction on the accounting equation. Chapter 10: The General Journal All the transactions not recorded in the other 6 journals, are recorded in the GJ. Expect a question on transactions you have to record in the GJ as well as posting the totals of ALL the journals to the accounts in the General Ledger. Chapter 11 : Reconciliation of Debtor s Control balance with Debtor s List total correct the Debtor s Control and correct the list. Expect questions like Case Study 14.2 (p ) or the revision activities handed out. Will NOT be asked to complete journals or to post to general ledger accounts. Chapter 18: Cost Accounting. Theory as well as calculations similar to activities we have completed. Chapter 19: Budgeting. Short questions on the different types of budgets. Please study the notes from The Answer that was handed out. Must be able to draw up or complete a CASH BUDGET. You could also be given a completed cash budget with questions & calculations to perform (e.g. the activities done in class). Please use the detailed examination scope that will be handed out on Monday, 22/10/2018.
