3 0052_GEO_FPI_5_E Project OBJECTIVES AND RESULTS The Iberian Pyrite Belt (IPB) 250 km long by 40 km wide. One of the largest and most important metallogenic provinces in the world. It extends through the Alentejo and the Algarve in Portugal, and through Andalusia in Spain, from the western edge of the province of Seville, a large part of the province of Huelva and to the Portuguese Atlantic coast. IGME, LNEG and JA have a wealth of scientific information on IPB dispersed in reports, databases and projects, without harmonizing and without spatial continuity. PROJECT RESULTS As a result, the main objective is the collection and harmonization of scientific production and its integration into a public network. Establishment of a Scientific and Technological Network, expandable and exportable, on IPB. Unified geological mapping at 1:200,000 scale of the Iberian Pyrite Belt. Geothematic carthografies at 1:400,000 scale as Mineral Resources Mapping (IGME-LNEG-JA), Geological Heritage Mapping (IGME-LNEG-JA), Potential Mining Areas Mapping (IGME-LNEG-JA), Aljustrel Mine Mapping in Algares sector (LNEG-CMA). Harmony and Drill Core Collection Development. Public drill core repositories on both sides of the Spanish-Portuguese border with a Common Database.
