8 Task 1 Project Planning Project management plan Coordination of work Plan the best routing and sequencing of work to maximize efficiency. Review existing GIS maps and existing plan drawings. Optimize sequencing of surveying work and connectivity analysis. Teams are highly encouraged to describe in their proposals the intended coordination of work.

10 Task 2 Surveying Provide horizontal position (northing and easting) and vertical position (rim elevation and invert elevation). Surveying accuracy shall be within 0.2 feet for both horizontal and vertical positions. Use State Plane coordinates. Provide location photographs of each manhole. Implement an effective QA/QC process. Detail the process in the proposal.

13 Task 3 Manhole and Pipe Attributes Manholes Measure and document the diameter, material, configuration, and drop structure type (if any). Pipes Measure and document the diameter and material as observed via the manhole.

14 Task 4 Connectivity Analysis and GIS Data Update Connectivity Analysis Confirm that all manholes to be surveyed are actually District manholes. Determine the direction of flow in all incoming and outgoing pipes.

15 Task 4 Connectivity Analysis and GIS Data Update GIS Data Update Provide the following data: horizontal coordinates and rim and invert elevations of manholes, lengths of pipe reaches, flow directions for incoming and outgoing pipes, diameters and materials of manholes and pipes, and drop structure types. Capture and provide data in a format that is directly compatible with ESRI ArcGIS 10 Software Suite. Provide hours to input data into District s GIS Coordinate with the District to reconcile any data that conflicts with data in the current GIS database.

16 Field Work Clarifications Confined Space Entry Consultant team shall provide own support. Debris in Manhole Preventing Accurate Measurement Decision pending Buried manholes In soil, 6 or less, with shovel by consultant In asphalt, deep, difficult access case by case (allowance) Manhole depths Assume the following: 0 25 ft. = 80% >25-50 ft. = 15% >50 ft. = 5%

17 Task 5 Plan Drawing Reconciliation Prepare a report describing the discrepancies between the existing drawings and the information obtained in Tasks 2 4. Examples: Incorrect pipe lengths Incorrect manhole or pipe materials Incorrect manhole or pipe sizes Missing drawings Etc.
