All local SDIs are motivated through INSPIRE, but: Focus is SDI (not INSPIRE) Focus is how to solve pending local problems with spatial data No real demand for INSPIRE data at local level Focus on public (and political) driven challenges turnaround in energy policy demographic change broadband Internet access in rural areas Public services egovernment INSPIRE Conference 2013: The Green Renaissance 11
12 Conclusion Already a lack of department-wide spatial data exchange Focus on even more capacity building on local level Strong connection to local SDI development Focus and support local SDI environments, even without the connection to INSPIRE (this step will follow anyway) Offer spatial data processing capabilities at INSPIRE level Support stronger horizontal spatial data management in local government INSPIRE Conference 2013: The Green Renaissance 12
