17 General Notes 1. Call BC One Call prior to any works. works are within the vicinity of BC Hydro overhead powerlines. BC Hydro approval is required prior to commencing works. 2. Refer to Summary of Watercouse Assessments at the, by Jacob Blanchard, RPTech, conducted on October, 217 for details on Creek assessments. Construction is to be in accordance with all applicable legislative regulations while working within the riparian areas. 3. road construction is to be constructed in accordance with the Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts single campsite standard drawing number RST 481-SR-1 unless otherwise noted in the design. 4. campsites extents are shown in the drawings and are to be constructed in accordance with the Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts single campsite standard drawing numbers RST 481-C-1 and RST 481-C-3. Trees are to be felled and removed within the proposed footprint. Where trees are adjacent to proposed fill slopes, the project manager is to give direction on whether to retain or remove the tree. Trees larger than 1cm (6 ) are to felled by a certified faller. Where the felled tree has the potential to damage infrastructure, use machine assist and or ropes to mitigate risk. Complete a hazard tree assessment in accordance with Worksafe BC and remove as required.. Clear and strip all organic and overburden materials within the proposed campsite footprint down to a firm bearing on undisturbed soil. All removed overburden material is to be removed and spoiled off site as determined by the project manager. A 3cm deep overburden layer has been assumed for volume determinations; however, final bearing soils are to be approved by the project manager prior to placing aggregate. 6. All placed aggregate is to be placed in 1mm lifts and compacted with a minimum lb plate compactor. If aggregate is too dry, add water as required to achieve optimal moisture content and allow for adequate compaction. Pit Run, and Gravel is to be well graded granular material, substantially free of clay lumps, organic material and other extraneous material, screened to remove all particles in excess of maximum diameter specified in the material description below. 7 Minus Pit Run Gradation Sieve Designation 19 Minus Road Crushed Grave Percent Passing 7mm > mm 7 2mm 4.7mm mm 8.7mm 2-8 Sieve Designation Percent Passing 19mm > 12.mm 7 9.mm mm mm mm mm 8 3.3mm 2.7mm Minus Road Crushed Gravel (HFSA) Sieve Designation Percent Passing 2mm > 19mm 8 9.mm mm mm 2-.3mm -3.7mm Where proposed campsite surface is not raised above the forest floor, ditches should be dug to intercept seepages and provide a minimum 2mm ditch depth with positive drainage away from the site. 8. Prior to placing Corrugated Steel Pipes, remove all organics or incompetent soils. All culverts are to be placed on a level compacted fill to allow positive drainage of the ditch-line or creek between 1- % gradient as required for each site. Bedding material within 3mm of the culverts shall consist of 19mm Minus Road Crush. Fill around the pipe is to be well compacted with a minimum lb plate compactor in 2mm lifts. Ensure a minimum 3mm depth of cover over top of the pipe. Armor both the inlet and outlet of each culvert with a 3mm nominal thickness of screened Kg Class angular rock Riprap. The Angular Rock Pad is to be embedded below scour such that it is a minimum 3mm deeper than the creek bed. The levelling gravel is to be spread such that there are no voids or pivoting along the entire length of the Arch footing plates. Levelling gravel is to consist of 2mm Minus Road Crushed Gravel and is to be wrapped in Non-Woven Geotextile. Materials Note: Bulking factor of used to determine the required Volumes.
