Prices are listed in US Dollars OF SPECIAL NOTE: We have now added a new section to show some of our first-bloom One-of-a-Kind novelty seedlings (not mericlones), many of which are from Dragon Tree Eagle breeding lines that we ve purchased from some of the cutting-edge breeding programs in Taiwan. These are available on a First Come-First Serve basis ~ and each photo is of the actual seedling being offered. We ve also expanded our collection of miniature Vandaceous, miniature Dendrobiums & divisions of some of our select Paphs ~ all of which grow & flower happily with our Phals. Each genus is put into their own category after our Phal. listings. Most plants are in 2.7 pots as first or second bloomers unless otherwise noted as being fully mature in 4 pots PLEASE NOTE: Stock quantities of 6 or fewer are noted in parens ORDERING INFORMATION FOR OUR MAIL ORDER CLIENTS: In the winter or during inclement weather, shipments may be delayed pending more moderate weather conditions. Shipping is either via FedEx Ground or Air depending on final destination. We reserve the right to withdraw any offering from sale and to limit quantities. We guarantee all plants to be true to identity to the best of our knowledge. However, since many come in from Taiwan, we have to assume they are properly labeled as to their species or hybrid name. We make no warranty as to the productiveness of any plants sold since culture conditions vary widely. Although we do our utmost to pack carefully, we are not responsible for damage to buds or flowers due to shipping if buyer specifically requests these plants ~ therefore, risk is assumed by buyer for buds or flowers on plants shipped at this stage Safe arrival of a healthy orchid plant is guaranteed. Packing & Shipping Charges: Based on the total of your order, a minimum of 10% for packing plus the actual FedEx shipping cost will be charged. We use FedEx Ground for all 1-3 day deliveries within our delivery zone since Ground shipping rates are much more reasonable than Air. If heat packs are requested, they will be provided at an additional charge. SIZE DEFINITIONS: = Previously flowered, fully mature Blooming Size plants F = Currently in flower (single spike unless otherwise noted) B = In bud (single spike unless otherwise noted) SP = In spike, just initiating to medium spike stage (single spike unless otherwise noted) BS = Blooming size (should flower in season) NBS = Near blooming size (approximately 1 year to flowering in season) S = about 2-3 years to flowering PHAL SPECIES: Most of these Phalaenopsis species are from Taiwan & were sibbed or selfed using very select parents PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE Phal. bellina fma. alba (Sib Cross of FRAGRANT Species) Rarely available but thanks to our annual trip to Taiwan, we were able to obtain a few seedlings from this newest sib cross of two alba clones! These plants are just now reaching flowering size, being very slow to make it to maturity, and we re expecting a much improved strain of this alba form of the species resulting from select sibbings and selfings created by NBS/BS (5) $ 65

PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE this Taiwan nursery. Many will show a soft green picotee or tip on its segments. These plants will most likely spike up & flower for the first time this summer, producing just 1-2 flowers initially. However, if the spike remains green, do not remove it as it will add more buds in addition to producing additional spikes. FRAGRANT! ONE-OF-A-KIND SEEDLINGS! Phal. bellina fma. coerulea (Sib Cross of FRAGRANT Species) The fragrant & beautiful Phal. bellina in a new color form! Typically, Phal. bellina has a central pink blush/flush on all its segments ~ however, this strain has a more coerulean blue to lavender flush which, along with its deep lavender lip, makes quite a statement. This species tends to continue to flower again on older inflorescences in addition to producing new so don t remove them unless they turn yellow. We re guessing this group is about a year to flowering & yet we ve seen a couple spike up already showing their increased vigor as a sib cross ~ they sold immediately! FRAGRANT! ONE-OF-A-KIND SEEDLINGS! COLOR VARIABLE CHING HUA NURSERY, TAIWAN NBS $ 38 Phal. celebensis (Sib Cross of Species) Endemic to Sulawesi, this miniature species has beautifully mottled silvery grey-green leaves making it an attractive addition to any collection, even when not in flower! Usually flowering from late summer to early fall, its tall inflorescences can literally be covered with successively opening semi-peloric flowers, all presented on a gracefully cascading display. This particular Phalaenopsis species is one of the few that does better in shade & kept moist year round. Not often available & a really unique little treasure! MINIATURE! NBS (2) $ 35 ONE-OF-A-KIND SEEDLINGS! JIAHO NURSERIES, TAIWAN

PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE (Actual photo of this clone) Phal. cornu-cervi fma. alba Peloric (Peloric 3-lip form of Species) A perfect 3-lip clone of the alba form of this popular fragrant species! The result of a clonal shift, these have all been flowered to assure they are true to the mother plant without reverting back to the regular alba form. Beautifully flattened inflorescences will produce long-lasting waxy & full form fragrant yellow-green flowers on & off throughout the year. Cooler temperatures & brighter light in fall/winter produce the lime green segments as in the photo. Summer flowers tend to be more yellow in their sepal color. In addition to producing new spikes each year, previously flowered spikes remain green & continue to add additional buds and branches off & on year round! FRAGRANT! B/F 1-2 spikes $ 55 Phal. javanica (Species: Montclair x self) Not often available, this strain is the result of a selfing of an extremely good form of this species! Very compact pendulous spikes produce small flowers cascading over or between compact round leaves. Again, we ve found this species does better in our greenhouses when grown a little cooler & shadier at a lower bench level. And for its best flowering display, many growers mount this species. MINIATURE SPECIES ONE-OF-A-KIND SEEDLINGS! Phal. pulcherrima Royal Fuchsia (4N) (SELECT CLONE of Species) NBS (2) BS (3) $ 45 $ 48 Glowing fuchsia flowers grace this particular tetraploid clone of Phal. pulcherrima! With its fabulously compact leaves & growth habit, this species can readily form basal keikis, in time producing a specimen plant for the most dramatic display. An easy grower which is temperature tolerant, this tetraploid form is producing more vigorous growth with longer lasting flowers!

PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE Phal. speciosa (Species sib cross: Purple x Dark ) This sib cross was created using the two solid color forms shown on the left, both of them being progeny from a sibbing of the clone C#1. The intense red-purple color from C#1 is spread out over all the segments of their flowers creating a stunning solid colored flower. Since this is a sib cross & not a mericlone, we cannot guarantee that every seedling will flower solid ~ some may take after C#1 (which is also a sensational flower) with the rest being more heavily marked or totally solid like their parents. A great reason to flower more than just one! FRAGRANT! CHING HUA NURSERY, TAIWAN ONE-OF-A-KIND SEEDLINGS! NBS/BS (2) $ 38 Phal. violacea fma. coerulea (Indigo form!) (Sib cross of this form of Species) A sib-cross of this fragrant species coming from two dark indigo parents from the breeding lines of HP Norton combined with those of Krull Smith! These have been vigorous growers and might very well make their first spikes within the coming year. As a sib cross, there will be some variation in the intensity of blue from one seedling to the next. FRAGRANT! ONE-OF-A-KIND SEEDLINGS! CHING HUA NURSERY, TAIWAN NBS (2) $ 42 MULTIFLORAL MINIATURES, COMPACT-GROWING BRIGHTLY COLORED NOVELTIES & EVEN SOME LARGER-FLOWERING STUNNERS: Again, most of these clones are the result of the excellent Taiwanese breeding programs. Many of the plants below were hand-picked from select nurseries over the last several years on our annual trips to Taiwan. PLEASE NOTE: With many of the harlequins & the red or orange novelties, differences in light & temperature at various times of the year will cause some variation to occur in the flower color and/or intensity of their markings. Under warmer temperatures & more shaded conditions in the summer, many red hybrids with yellow or orange in their breeding background will flower showing more of those colors. Under cooler temperatures & brighter light in the fall to winter months, the red pigment in the flowers is more strongly expressed resulting in solid red flowers. Also, many of the Phal. bellina and/or violacea-influenced novelties improve in color intensity, size and fuller form on their 2 nd & 3 rd flowerings, as do the actual species themselves. 5 PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE Phal. Chiada Hebe AAM1023A (I-Hsin Sesame x I-Hsin Canary) A unique new color form of this great multi-floral mini! Quite unlike what we expected, this clone has produced wonderfully round 2 creamy white, heavy substance, flowers marked with fine spotting on their lateral sepals, reminiscent of a larger rounder Phal. stuartiana. Their heavy substance comes from their novelty harlequin-influenced parents, leading to a long-lasting display, with their amazing floriferousness an added and pleasant surprise. Great upright leaf habit & compact vigorously branching spikes are in perfect proportion to each other. Great for limited space or under-lights culture. Just about as charming as a mini Phal can be! MULTI-FLORAL MINI! SP/B 2 branching spikes! $ 28 Phal. Fuller s Gold Stripe OX1560 An especially charming clone of this multi-floral miniature! Unlike the other commonly available clones of this same hybrid, this particular clone produces extremely round well-balanced flowers on very compact branching spikes its striping and red lip are also much more vivid and well-defined than other clones of the same its presentation is beautifully set off by a central white flush while its flower size takes after the multimini parent. These heavy substance flowers lead us to wonder if they re 4N and their heavier substance means a longer-lasting display. If we could only grow one clone of Fuller s Gold Stripes, this would be it! MULTI-FLORAL MINI! OX NURSERY, TAIWAN B/F (2) $ 22 $ 25

B/F $ 75 $ 33 (Sogo Pride x Tying Shin Spring) A sensational mating of two of Tying Shin s best waxy yellow novelty hybrids! As first bloomers in just 2.7 pots, they re already producing 5+ buds on compact spikes over equally compact leaf spans. The mother plant we saw at the nursery was fully mature in a 4 pot with two branching spikes of long-lasting flowers. This little hybrid is a great step forward from Phal. Sogo Golden, one of our alltime favorites! (PS: We forgot to smell the flowers so can t tell you if they took on the fragrance of the parents or not ~ but our guess is that they did.) 9 PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE Phal. Lioulin Golden Age A09714 (Lioulin Dazzle x Fusheng s Golden Age) Fabulous clear yellow flowers offset with a bright red lip, these plants are only in 3 pots yet have already produced two branching spikes bearing a multitude of buds! A ready brancher with nice compact spikes in perfect proportion to the plant, its full form flowers are 2 ½ in size, a nice mid-size between larger flowered hybrids & multi-floral miniatures. 10 PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE Phal. Lioulin Peacock A09616 (2) $ 28 (Taida Salu x Tai-I Yellow Bird) An arresting rich yellow harlequin showing the newest in this line of harlequin breeding! Intensity and degree of expression of harlequin accents will vary according to light and temperature but is always a dramatic result, be it a heavy suffusion of harlequin accents or not. With its waxy long-lasting flowers it tends to continue to produce spikes and buds, even while retaining previously flowered spikes! First bloomers. NOVELTY HARLEQUIN! Phal. Lioulin Sparrow Taida Violet Butterfly (Tai-I Yellow Bird x Sogo Rosa) An adorable harlequin mini that has already produced 2 branching spikes in just 2.7 pots! This group is just beginning to flower on its first branching spikes, the spikes being just slightly taller than the clone Taida Little Panda. It also differs from that clone in that all its segments are surrounded by a generous yellow picotee. The perfect little brighten any corner Phalaenopsis! B/F 2 branching spikes! $ 33 MULTI-MINI HARLEQUIN! Phal. Little One (hygrochila x japonica) A great little hybrid that was originally a cross of two miniature Vandaceous species & which has since been reclassified way too many times! Originally it was a cross of Vandopsis parishii (now Phal. hygrochila) with Sedirea japonica (now Phal. japonica). Reclassifications aside, these plants produce beautifully spotted small waxy yellow flowers over very compact foliage. As a hybrid population, there will be a slight variation from one plant to another but all have flowered with the same wonderfully spotted flowers & lips. Robust & easy growers under Phalaenopsis conditions! MINI! BS (3) $ 45

PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE Phal. Long Pride Little Bee Peloric B/F (2) $ 42 (Sogo Vivien x I-Hsin Gold Dust) An adorable peloric resulting from a miniature candy-stripe mated to a harlequin-influenced waxy yellow! The pod parent, Sogo Vivien, has brought its multi-floral habit and compact growth to Long Pride Little Bee while I-Hsin Gold Dust, the pollen parent, has contributed heavier flower substance with a spotting and dotting of harlequin on the candy stripe patterning, finishing it all with the exciting touch of peloric petals. A miniature already vigorously producing two spikes. MULTI-FLORAL WAXY MINI! LONG PRIDE NURSERY, TAIWAN (NOTE: this was just formally registered with the RHS under the above name rather than as Phal. Ebony Sweet Gem as previously expected) Phal. Natsume s Berry Little Treasure (Orig: Phal. (Yu Pin Natsume x Fuller s Berry) OX 1659 ) Another clone using the great miniature harlequin parent, Fuller s Berry! Combined with Yu Pin Natsume, it has created cardboard-substance flowers that are almost black & are FRAGRANT our photo, shot at the show with a flash, doesn t begin to capture how really almost black these flowers are (due to the flash reflecting back to the camera). Mated with Yu Pin Natsume, another heavily marked harlequin mini, its rich dark color is the result of layer upon layer of harlequin suffusion coming from both parents, producing a thick flower with heavy color pigment and no hint of any other color. These plants have already flowered once, producing 2 branching spikes in just a 2.7 pot and will continue to produce flowers on previously bloomed spikes in addition to creating new a couple which were cut back just 2 months ago are already spiking again. 13 PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE Phal. OX Black Tea OX1707 AM/AOS (Coral Lake x OX Spot Queen) When granted its 86 point AM/AOS two years ago, this spectacular clone was bearing 12 brilliantly striped harlequinemboldened flowers on one cascading inflorescence! Its burgundy spotting coalesced along its bold stripes as a result of its harlequin parent, softening towards its edges with a fine white picotee. Flower size was almost 4 & it presented a dramatically vivid combination combining the best of both parents. OX NURSERY, TAIWAN SP (4) 2 spikes $ 35 Phal. OX Cheese OX1658 (OX Little King x Fuller s Cheese) When we visited OX Nursery two years ago, we saw a bench run of this particular harlequin multi-floral miniature which immediately drew our eyes! 16 PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE Phal. OX Golden Lottery OX1665 FCC/AOS (OX Lottery x OX Golden Star) When we awarded this clone of OX Golden Lottery two years ago at the Taiwan Show, it was the most outrageous splash-petal yellow we had ever seen! And that still holds true today ~ we have yet to see this kind of breeding produce anything even close to this. Producing flowers almost 4 in size, when awarded it was showing off with 34 superbly formed & sparkling non-fading flowers on two branching inflorescences. In addition to receiving the highly coveted FCC/AOS, it also was awarded by the IPA as Best Phalaenopsis in Show from over 500 entries! SPECIAL NOTE ON THIS CLONE: The first group of these that we brought in flowered as OX Lottery OX1525 so we contacted OX about this. We were told that they discovered those first run clones had all reverted to the OX Lottery parent & suggested that we flower our second shipment, made from a second cloning in order to stabilize the results (only about a 30% success rate on that run). So far we have flowered just a few that are this actual OX Golden Lottery OX1665 with many more to flower out first before assuring everyone they would flower true. Once these seedlings are fully mature & are flowered under cooler brighter winter conditions, their splash patterning will become much more intense, just like the awarded plant which flowered in Taiwan in the cooler brighter months of winter. SP 2 spikes (2) First bloomers VERY LIMITED $ 48 OX NURSERY, TAIWAN

PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE Phal. OX Golden Song OX1634 (Surf Song x Sunrise Star) A result from of our most favorite miniature waxy yellow parents giving a unique & surprising result! Its central flush of orange-salmon comes from Surf Song, known for its beautiful art shade flowers. The yellow background color and smaller 6.2cm (2.5 ) flower size is thanks to the pollent parent, Sunrise Star, one of our favorite waxy minis. A wonderful compact display over compact leaves of something totally different in cutting-edge hybrid novelty breeding! SP 2 spikes $ 35 OX NURSERY, TAIWAN Phal. OX Kitty Face OX1662 (Parentage is coming) Just adorable & aptly named OX Kitty Face for its suggestion of kitty-like whiskers over a multi-floral mini white! Flower size is around 6.6cm (2.5 ) on readily branching compact spikes. And its blood red lip is the perfect finish. When these came in from OX we could find no record of this hybrid being registered so contacted OX for its parentage. Our gal there is researching its records to assure us of the proper name & parentage ~ due to the death of the father two years ago who had done a bulk of the hybridizing at OX, some registrations failed to be applied for in a timely manner. OX NURSERY, TAIWAN SP (4) 2 spikes $ 35

PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE Phal. OX Little Prince orchidphile (Chih Shang s Stripes x OX Black Jack) A great peloric result from OX Little Prince OX1712! This flowering has taken place during warmer & shadier conditions so we re anxious to see how much more intense its harlequin patterning becomes when flowered under cooler & brighter winter conditions. Heavy substance flowers on strong very compact spikes ~ something totally different for any collection! OX NURSERY, TAIWAN SP 2 spikes $ 48 Phal. OX Little Prince OX1712 (Chih Shang s Stripes x OX Black Jack) This multi-floral mini harlequin hybrid is so new, having just been produced as a test run by OX Nurseries, that they just released its name to me on our recent trip to Taiwan! Despite that small obstacle of only having a clonal number last year, we decided to order some knowing that they would share its name with us as soon as it was registered. A vigorous brancher, we were totally taken with its harlequin & splash petal patterning on a smaller 6.8cm flower, creating quite an abundant presentation. Its candy stripe pod parent was emboldened by OX Black Jack, the harlequin parent, resulting in a great mix of harlequin and splash accents. And its degree of harlequin markings does vary according to light & temperature with the boldest patterning occurring under cooler & brighter conditions. OX NURSERY, TAIWAN SP 2 spikes $ 35

PHOTO NAME & DESCRIPTION SIZE PRICE Phal. Samera fma. coerulea BS $ 48 (bellina fma. coerulea x violacea fma. coerulea) Every seedling from this population has flowered as coerulea and they re a great step up from the coerulea forms of their species parentage! When grown cooler in the winter, the flowers are perfectly flat and full. If they reflex slightly in the heat of the summer, wait for cooler weather flowering & you ll see how great these are. Being one-of-a-kind seedlings, there will be a slight variation in the coerulea intensity from one plant to the next, but all will express their coerulea heritage! FRAGRANT! SP/B (2) $ 25 $ 35 SOGO NURSERY, TAIWAN Phal. Su-An Cricket SW (Gelblieber x mannii) Another exciting find at the 2017 TIOS Show! This little hybrid is hard to find so we hand-carried these plants back to the US bare-root & have just potted them up in moss. Great compact leaf spans & spikes can produce an abundance of yellow-green full form waxy miniature flowers. Due to its breeding background we have found these grow best under lower Phalaenopsis light. And the green expression in their flowers is more evident when flowered under cooler temperatures and higher light. These plants are just getting established in their pots so we re releasing them due to client wish lists. WAXY MINI NOVELTY FRAGRANT! BS $ 95

YU PIN NURSERY, TAIWAN FIRST BLOOM ONE-OF-A-KIND NOVELTY SEEDLINGS (all are in 2.7 pots): All of our novelty or select seedlings flowered for the first time for us this past summer ~ and with Phal. bellina in the background of many, as first bloomers they will initially produce only 1-3 flowers on their first spikes. For this line of breeding we leave any still-green spikes on the plants since they will most likely add more buds to these spikes in addition to producing new spikes at their next flowering. Some people choose to remove the initial spikes & give the energy back to the plant. However, we ve never noticed (with this line of novelty-type breeding) that it doesn t make much, if any, difference in the overall vigor of the plant since their breeding background carries the tendency to retain older spikes. Also, with this kind of breeding, flower form, color and size improve enormously with their 2 nd & 3 rd flowerings. But ~ the real bonus to owning a One-of-a-Kind plant is that you can give it your own clonal name! PHOTO NAME & NOTES SIZE PRICE

One of these clones is just 6 in height perfect for windowsill & under-lights growing! We are particularly fond of the green & yellow flowering varieties with either delightfully compact or elegantly tall flower spikes. We ve found that the traditional pale pink-burgundy colored flowers are just too muddy to stand out and make a statement. The clone Tian Cao also has the added charm of VARIEGATED FOLIAGE, meaning it s attractive, even when not in flower! Variegated foliage comes at a higher price because it s greatly prized in Japanese & Chinese cultures, meaning the stronger the variegation, the more expensive the clone. MICRO-MINIATURE! Burr. Sunkissed Buttercup (now Oncostelopsis) (Living Fire x Catatante) Although we don t carry many Oncidium mericlones, this particular one has always been a favorite for its adorable yellow flowers, floriferousness, ready branching habit and tendency to flower more often than others in this genus! Compact growth, compact branching spikes and beautifully round pseudobulbs add to its charm. New flowering growths are just initiating. Its multitude of small golden yellow flowers are charmingly ruffled and add a welcome ray of sunshine to any collection! F (3) Multigrowth plants! F (3) $ 38 $ 33 $ 33 $ 25

Chysis limminghei (MINI Species) An adorable species endemic to Mexico which just loves warm to hot conditions! When its new growth matures, it sends out a pendulous, robust inflorescence bearing fragrant, waxy, long-lasting flowers up to 3 in size. Large showy flowers can literally dwarf the miniature size of the plant and pseudobulbs. Easily grown & flowered under Phalaenopsis conditions. The leaves will drop in the fall after flowering & we recommend keeping the medium damp to avoid shriveling its pseudobulbs during the winter. This species does not like to be repotted with any great frequency so we re growing ours in New Zealand moss which allows for very little disturbance of its root system when repotting is needed to accommodate new growths. FRAGRANT WAXY SPECIES! (2) $ 38 Cochleanthes amazonica (possible 4N population) (Species sib cross) A great sibbing of two select clones of this species! These have been blooming with larger size, fuller form flowers with amazingly heavy substance, & more distinct & dramatic purple striping on their lips than is typical for this species, leading us to wonder if this might be a 4N population. An easy grower under Phalaenopsis conditions, they will produce several spikes on each maturing growth with each spike bearing 1-2 flowers ~ just when we think a mature growth has finally finished flowering, we find yet another spike forming on it. These are multi-growth husky plants that may still produce even more spikes. As our smaller photo shows, they are quite capable of making a real impact! FRAGRANT! Husky multigrowth plants $ 33 ONE-OF-A-KIND SPECIES SEEDLINGS!

Cl. Rebecca Northen Grapefruit Pink (Grace Dunn x rosea) Both Cl. Grace Dunn, the pod parent, and this hybrid are our two most favorite Clowesias! Not only do they stay small while producing a multitude of inflorescences, but they re easy growers, usually flowering in the spring. After they go deciduous, we keep them lightly moist to keep their pseudobulbs plump and to help support their next great flowering. We have found that they do much better for us growing in New Zealand moss than in bark since the moss provides nice even moisture for the best most consistent growth. As a bonus they have a delightful citrus-y sweet fragrance! FRAGRANT MINI! (3) $ 35 Cyc. barthiorum Pink Dove (Species) An easy-growing form of this great species, happily grown & flowered under Phalaenopsis conditions! Currently in just 2 pots, they re already producing their first flower spikes. Female flowers are solid yellow-green & larger than the male flowers (see both in the left-hand photo). Great cascading inflorescences on fully mature plants. A compact grower, this is well worth adding to every collection! FRAGRANT! $ 33

Dendrochilum uncatum (Syn. formosanum) (2) $ 28 (FRAGRANT MINIATURE Species) Wonderfully miniature yet capable of putting on quite a show with a multitude of cascading sprays bearing petite ¼ - ½ lime green flowers! Best grown in New Zealand sphagnum moss, kept damp, not wet. Happily grown under Phalaenopsis conditions. The fully mature plant pictured to the left is in just a 4 pot standing a mere 6-8 in height. These little wonders have already flowered once with multiple spikes. Multigrowth plants in just 2 pots! FRAGRANT MINI! Epi. Miracle Valley Nodesheka (Crystal Valley x Rose Valley) Great miniature Epidendrum growing no more than 6-10 in height! Generous heads of flowers are produced as each new growth matures & if the plant is kept moist, it can continue to produce additional buds on the inflorescence. Attractively compact rounded leaves add to its charm, even when not in flower. Easily grown under Phalaenopsis conditions, this little wonder gives every collection a great shot of vivid color without taking up any space! F $ 22 FRAGRANT MINI!

Fredclarkeara After Dark Sunset Valley Orchids FCC/AOS (Mo. Painted Desert x Ctsm. Donna Wise) (3) $ 45 Easily grown under Phalaenopsis conditions, this particular clone of Fredclarkeara After Dark produces tawny green flowers, heavily spotted maroon over all! Its heavy substance flowers with a waxy texture lead to a long-lasting display. In 2005 this plant was the recipient of the Merritt W. Huntington Award as the most outstanding plant awarded an FCC/AOS. When granted its FCC, it was vigorously displaying 48 flowers on three pendant inflorescences, all emerging from just one pseudobulb! A great exhibit plant and a stunner when in flower. These plants are now just completing their new growths in preparation for early fall flowering. Of special note: We shifted our exhibit plants of Fredclarkeara into New Zealand moss as an experiment to keep the deciduous growths plump & have noted that its even moisture supply helps keep the older pseudobulbs from desiccating while giving increased vigor to the new growths. Large multiple growth plants

Fredclarkeara After Dark SVO Black Pearl FCC/AOS (Mo. Painted Desert x Ctsm. Donna Wise) (4) $ 48 Easily grown & flowered under Phal conditions, this particular highly awarded clone of After Dark is so dark it s almost BLACK! Produces cascading spikes of multitudes of waxy long-lasting flowers in late winter, beginning its new pseudobulb growth in early spring. Much easier to grow than either of its parents with no need to withhold water during its leafless stage since the pseudobulbs are still growing & photosynthesizing for future growths ~ we lightly water the surface of their medium all winter & resume normal drenching at the onset of new growth in the spring. In addition, the arrangement of the flowers is perfection as opposed to similar black hybrids where the flowers simply don t open well and arrange themselves on the spike properly. These plants are now just completing their new growths in preparation for early fall flowering. Large multiple growth plants Two important Plus Factors to this hybrid: It s a vigorous grower ~ and it doesn t shoot its pollen when jarred or moved. We showed our exhibit plant of this clone in three different shows last winter with no loss of pollen despite all the trips to and from! Galeopetalum Starburst Parkside AM/AOS (Galeottia fimbriata x Zygo. Jumpin Jack) A great intergeneric Zygopetalum hybrid bearing large rich green flowers, accented with burgundy-brown barring and a broad brilliant burgundy-pink waterfall accented lip! An easy-grower alongside Zygo. Advance Australia, under Phalaenopsis conditions, these plants make quite a statement with their dramatically large colorful flowers! AMAZINGLY FRAGRANT! B/F 2 spikes $ 45

Habenaria Regnieri (carnea x rhodocheila) A fabulous mating of two great species of Habenaria, many clones of which have been recognized with AOS awards! Its beautiful silver-green spotted pattern on the wavy green leaves make this plant attractive, even when not in flower and its compact growth habit allows it to fit readily into any collection. Large flowers are produced in the fall from the new spring growths bearing stunning salmonpink flowers, creating up to 22 flowers on each inflorescence, the flower size being about 1 ¼. These plants are also benefitting from great hybrid vigor as a result of the mating of two species. Like our comments below on growing Habenaria rhodocheila, we follow the same culture for this little hybrid and it, too, loves growing in New Zealand Moss! Not available for the last two years, we were recently fortunate enough to obtain a few more from Taiwan. Being seedlings, not mericlones, there will be slight variation from one seedling to the next. But all have flowered this beautiful salmon-pink! MINIATURE! New spring growth just emerging (2) $ 55

Habenaria rhodocheila (Species) We have been amazed at how easy to grow this Habenaria species has been! Even when not in flower, their foliage is beautifully marked. We ve found that if we keep them just slightly moist with a light spritzing, not wet, when they go deciduous, they produce their spring growths readily. Allowing them to dry totally will most likely cause their loss over the winter we know, we used to follow the culture sheets & did just that and they never came back! We ve also discovered that trying to grow them in a bark mix is more than challenging, so we ve switched to growing them in moss. This population has been extremely vigorous & is well worth adding to every collection. Plus, despite our initial doubts, they LOVE growing in the New Zealand moss! We ve been amazed at how really easy Habenarias are to grow & flower just don t follow any of the culture sheets & you ll do great! Being seedlings, not mericlones, there will be some variation from one seedling to the next. MINIATURE! New spring growth just emerging (2) $ 45 Habenaria xanthocheila (Species) Another great Habenaria species bearing glowing bright yellow flowers! These are small growing terrestrials with coral-like roots. In Malaysia they are found growing exposed on granite boulders. Produces beautiful erect inflorescences earlier than many other Habenaria species. Also, unlike other Habenarias, this species appears to have little serrations on its flower segments which add to its charm. MINIATURE! New spring growth just emerging $ 95

Lagerara Angel Baby Peppermint Stick (Onc. Angel Island x Aspasia Tight Jeans) $ 25 Although we were challenged trying to grow & flower Odonts, this great new hybrid is quite happy growing with our Phalaenopsis ~ so we can now enjoy its Odontoglossum-type flowers on a warmer growing plant! Great well-defined redburgundy barring/blotching marks all its segments, its large flowers beautifully presented on the spike & complete with a great ruffled lip. Compact grower for this type of breeding so it won t take over your bench! (NOTE: Aspasia is a small genus of just 7 species related to Miltonia & Brassia). Onc. (Gomesa) Moon Shadow Tiger Tail AM/AOS (Cytocidium Hornet x Big Bee) We ve always loved the brilliant yellow flowers of Onc. (Gomesa) varicosa, especially with its boldly contrasting deep chocolate petals! However, under our growing conditions that particular species never did well at all. This little hybrid has lots of Onc. varicosa in its breeding background, yet it is so much easier to grow & flower under our Phalaenopsis conditions. Vigorously branching spikes over miniature growths make this clone a sure winner! MINIATURE! F (3) $ 35 $ 28 Pot. Lovely Fantasy orchidphile (Love Sound x Fire Fantasy) A rarely available division of our select clone of Pot. Lovely Fantasy! Brilliant non-fading yellow flowers with the red splash on the tips of the petals & sepals mimicking the red accent on its broad lip. Capable of producing up to three large 7-9 cm. flowers per inflorescence & can bloom more than once a year. Easily grown & flowered under Phalaenopsis conditions & a beautifully compact plant with large showy flowers! MINIATURE DIVISION FROM SELECT CLONE BS $ 42

Pot. Young-Min Orange Golden Satisfaction AM/AOS (Viola Nuggett x Lc. Trick or Treat) This spectacular clone of Pot. Young-Min Orange knocked all the AOS judges out with its amazingly floriferous display at the Taiwan International Orchid Show in 2010 & again this year. It was awarded in 2010 with over 150 flowers and buds borne on 20 inflorescences, a display of vivid fiery orange, capable of producing 7+ flowers per spike when fully mature. This year, when exhibited again in Taiwan at the show, it had virtually doubled in size! These vigorous plants can flower twice a year with long-lasting lightly FRAGRANT flowers, their orange intensifying as the flower matures. Grows & flowers happily under Phalaenopsis conditions! MINI-COMPACT GROWER! MULTIPLE GROWTH PLANT Husky multigrowth plants $ 48 Slc. Li Jiuan Love Nippon (C. Cherry Chip x Slc. Hsinying Catherine) $ 58 Capable of flowering twice a year, this great new compact Cattleya has it all ~ they just finished flowering in April & are in puffy bud again now! Its white flowers have their petal tips just lightly kissed with the same rich lavender-pink as its showy lip. A great mix combining the breeding heritage of C. Angelwalker, C. intermedia and Slc. Love Sound. Can produce up to 6 flowers on a single inflorescence on a fully mature plant and blooms faithfully on every new growth! FRAGRANT! COMPACT CATTLEYA!

Slc. Sierra Gem Coco (Hazel Boyd x Pole-Star) BS $ 33 Multitudes of miniature non-fading bright golden yellow flowers are produced on miniature growth plants! Its petals & sepals are tipped with red flaring, matching the red in its lip. A great little mini that can flower more than once a year. MINIATURE! DIVISION FROM SELECT CLONE Soph. cernua (Micro-Mini Species) An absolutely adorable micro-miniature species from the Cattleya alliance! Easily grown in small spaces under Phalaenopsis conditions, this little species can flower several times a year on multi-growth plants. Ideal for underlights, windowsill & space-challenged growing! MICRO-MINI! BS (4) Husky multigrowth plants $ 42

Zygo. Advance Australia HOF AM/AOS $ 28 (Titanic x Helen-Ku) We received an AM/AOS on this clone a few years ago & still feel it s the best FRAGRANT Zygo around a very easy and extremely compact grower, quite unlike most Zygopetalums available today which tend to really spread out & take over your growing space! The waxy green sepals & petals are almost totally covered with chocolate brown blotches, and its broad lip is heavily overlaid with vivid purple right out to the narrow white picotee, a vast improvement over other Zygopetalum hybrids. These were first bloomers & produced 3-4 flowers on their first spikes. As each plant matures, expect to see up to two spikes per each new growth and flowering more than once a year ~ multiple newly emerging growths only add to its delightfully fragrant bouquet! A vigorous grower for this kind of breeding, it thrives when grown in New Zealand moss. Its heavy chocolate barring only varies with the light and temperature conditions (cooler & brighter versus warmer & shadier) when the spikes are forming. The absolute best of all Zygos. for its solid purple lip, rich rich color, full flat segments, delightful fragrance & great compact growth habit! FRAGRANT! GREAT COMPACT GROWER!
