2 Improve Youx Image Wh 'hen you want a clearer picture of the weather in your region, zoom in on Alden's new DlOO DIFAX display system. The D100 is a PC-based work station that lets you select any of the DIFAX charts available, automatically store them in memory, and call them up on a monitor. Best of all, the DlOO lets you store portions of these charts for detailed analysis of your own region. You zoom in on the exact area you need. The area selected is displayed at a much higher resolution rate for dramatically improved readability. Another unique feature is looping. For example, you can store sequential radar summaries, then loop through them-either automatically or manually-for a The full-frame weather depiction chart gives view of the progression of the weather. an overall view of the country's weather. Hard copies of any charts are available on Alden's dot matrix printer through an easy-to-use automatic or manual selection process. For more information on the DlOO, call or write Alden Electronics, 47 Washington Street, Westborough, MAoi58i.(6i7) Zooming in, you get a high-resolution display of your own region that's easier to work with. 3 SMX TETHERED SYSTEMS HIGH-ACCURACY, PORTABLE ATMOSPHERIC SOUNDING A SYSTEMS A Total System Approach. AIR offers two completely portable Radiosonde Systems for highaccuracy measurement of atmospheric pressure, humidity, temperature, wind speed, and wind direction: (1) The AIR Free-Flight System, and (2) The AIR Tethered System. Both systems are significantly lower in price and operating costs than alternative systems. The ADAS Ground Station. An ADAS (Atmospheric Data Acquisition System) is the heart of each AIR sounding system. It receives and processes telemetered data from AIR's Airsondes and Tethersondes, calculates meteorological variables in real time, and produces digital output in meteorological units for computers or printers. When linked to an AIR Encoding Optical Theodolite, ADAS calculates wind in real time. Free-Flight Airsondes. Two types are available: the spinning Airsonde, with dry and wet bulb thermistors, and the ducted Airsonde, using a carbon hygristor for RH. Pressure is measured by a dual-diaphragm capacitance-type sensor. PTU data are telemetered every 5 seconds. Tethersondes. Rising 1-2km on a tethered balloon, the Tethersonde System measures PTU and winds with high vertical resolution in the boundary layer. ADAS GROUND STATION Find out more.
